Originally from Metro-Detroit, Legace Is a female rock vocalist and artist based in Los Angeles
She has worked in various studios such as Paramount Recording, and with the sound engineers and producers of artists like Beck and David Gilmour.
Mostly engaged in live performance, she sings at The Brig in Venice on Tuesday nights with the "Brig Band' and on Sundays with her own band. She has performed at notable venues like the Troubadour.
Her vocal range is dynamic and ebbs between belting and softer head-voicing, often with a bit of a rasp.

Interview with Legacee Mayes
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been singing since I can remember, as a child performing in my schools choir. I joined my first bands in my years at University of Michigan, and recorded an album with my rockband. I travelled Europe performing at jam sessions for three months before returning to the U.S. and driving out to Los Angeles to pursue music. In my first year here, I've released two singles, produced a music video, gained a residency, played at The Troubadour and am now recording my first EP.

A: Sleezy Jazzy Rock
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Gotye, I believe his instrumentals are something out of this world!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a unique sounding vocal and phrasing to every song. Also love! I will not work on something that doesn't feel aligned, as I want to give my most authentic an genuine performance an energy toward everything.
