Interview with Kugmas
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career in electronic music started in 2009 when I attended my first rave and developed a deep passion for the scene. By 2013, I began DJing, which eventually led me to pursue music production in order to grow as a more complete artist. In 2018, I enrolled in a formal music production college program, where I built a strong technical foundation in sound design, music theory, mixing, and arrangement. Since then, I’ve been fully dedicated to developing my craft. During the pandemic, I further expanded my knowledge through courses and mentorships with established artists such as Classmatic, Tough Art, Victor Ruiz, Wehbba, Anna, and Fabriek, complementing my academic background. Over the years, I transitioned into working professionally, and today I make a full-time living from music, providing production, mixing, and mastering services to clients worldwide. In total, I’ve been involved in music for over a decade, with several years of professional experience in production and audio services.

Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to produce in stages, so I usually start by creating an initial idea. Once the client approves it, we move on to the next parts. I always keep the client updated so they can be part of the process and to make sure we stay aligned throughout the project.

A: I have an acoustically treated room, an Apollo Twin, quality studio monitors, and several quality plugin bundles.

A: Most of the work I do these days is ghost production and co-production.
