Interview with Kugmas

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career in electronic music started in 2009 when I attended my first rave and developed a deep passion for the scene. By 2013, I began DJing, which eventually led me to pursue music production in order to grow as a more complete artist. In 2018, I enrolled in a music production college, where I built a strong technical foundation in sound design, music theory, mixing, and arrangement. Since then, I’ve been fully dedicated to developing my craft. During the pandemic, I further expanded my knowledge through courses and mentorships with established artists such as Classmatic, Tough Art, Victor Ruiz, Wehbba, Anna, Fabriek and many more, complementing my academic background. Over the years, I transitioned into working professionally, and today I make a full-time living from music, providing production, mixing, and mastering services to clients worldwide. In total, I’ve been involved in music for over a decade, with several years of professional experience in production and audio services.

Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to produce in stages, so I usually start by creating an initial idea. Once the client approves it, we move on to the next parts. I always keep the client updated so they can be part of the process and to make sure we stay aligned throughout the project.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have an acoustically treated room, an Apollo Twin, quality studio monitors, and several quality plugin bundles.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of the work I do these days is ghost production and co-production.
