Interview with Sonic Sessions Studio
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: To ensure that we have the best understanding of the client's vision for the project, we ask that they provide any demos they have created. If no demos have been created, we ask they provide references to what they are expecting the final product to sound like.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: We tend to lean in to clean, organic, and full sound design.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! Everything has a time and place. While also considering restrictions, both allow for a unique workflow as well as the character of the final product.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We promise to deliver quality and make sure each and every one of our clients is satisfied and their vision has been fulfilled.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Both of us want nothing more than to cultivate meaningful tracks that will capture specials moments in time. The ability to implement the skills we have been building for years, doing the thing we love most is an incredible feeling.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: At this point in our careers we are focusing Hip-Hop and all styles surrounding the genre, although we have a passion for all genres and the opportunity the craft multi-genre tracks.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: One of the many benefits of working as a duo is collective creativity. We each bring something unique to the table and which allows us to have moments where our individual flavor shines within the project. While we both possess great song-writing skills, one of us excels at having a very good ear for what sounds great and works well together; the other excelling at capturing a moment through lush sound design and mixing.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: We often craft beats from the ground up as well as write/record a variety of instruments. This will vary greatly depending on the client's wants and needs. We love implementing solid sound design, complimentary dynamics, and groove (if allowed).
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: We usually start by grabbing files from the client or discuss the general idea and desires, then immediately hop into the creation process! Inspiration comes quickly and we don't stop working until ourselves and the client are completely satisfied with the final product.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Our day to day consists of making beats of all variety for clients and also record/mix entire projects.
