Premium quality Restoration Mastering, Remastering, and Remixing for 1980s / 1990s cassette, TASCAM, 4-track budget demo projects and live recordings.
The 1980s and 1990s saw an explosion of DIY, budget, and custom music projects in heavy metal, thrash
metal, hardcore punk, crossover punk, hard rock, glam metal, AOR, alternative rock, college rock, post
punk, and experimental music. Renewed nostalgia for this exciting and unpredictable period is bringing
these special projects out of the closets of the world and onto vinyl and CD reissues, as well as YouTube
and Spotify playlists, where they are being discovered and appreciated all over again – or in some cases,
for the first time. My name is Jeremy Brown, and mastering and restoring the music of this period is my specialty and passion. I can dramatically transform the sound of your 1980s/ 1990s demo project into something
beyond what you thought would be possible. I have an ear for the music of the period, and can help you
find preserve the charm and human/technical limitation of the original tracks while vastly improving the
sound. All of my clients have been blown away with the remastered and restored versions of the track that I ‘ve
sent them, and I am confident that you will be as well. I will be in close contact with you regarding you
vision for the sound that you want.
Just send me the digital files and I will take care of the rest.

Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Things recorded in analog usually sound better than digital but digital isn't all bad. The problem with digital is people think louder is better and that is not the case. A lot of times Mastering Engineers compress and brickwall the sound which crushes the dynamics, which is why people usually like the sound of analog. I try to make a happy medium between the 2.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am very proud of the mastering job I did for Jimmy P Brown's project called Novella 2. Jimmy is a seasoned musician who I grew up listening to. He(and the other band members) have over 40 years experience playing music. Having him be happy with my remaster was an amazing feeling!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am working on radio edits for a band named Emanate. The band came to me and ask me to shorted the length time of each track so it would be able to be played on the radio. That is really fun to do.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: no, i'm new here!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is, "i'm not happy with my remaster until you are".
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Hearing my customers say they can't believe how good my new remaster sounds. They are always blown away. That makes me so happy!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: "Do you think you can really make old muffled sounding demo better?" i always reply "Yes, I can!"
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: that my remastering is the same as everyone else. What I do is unique way to make a remaster.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: how would you like your music to sound? How do you want it improved?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Listen to my audio clip to hear the difference my remasters can make. I have gotten many compliments from artists saying how easy it was to work with me. Can I make your low quality recording better? My answer is 100% yes I can!!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been remastering as an amateur for over 20 years. Now I am moving to make this my professional career.

A: I am very customer service centric. I want you to be happy with my remaster. I keep communication open so you can feel comfortable to tell me what sound you are looking for. Your satisfaction is what makes me happy!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: The artist I like to work is the one who made a good demo and never got signed. I want the artist to be proud to share their new demo remaster!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I use unique software the can separate each instrument to separate stems which I can EQ then remix the song to get an amazing new sound!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, and Thrash are my sweet spots but I can remaster any type of music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: taking an old 80's or 90's cassette demo(digital tracks) and completely transforming it into what you originally intended it to sound like.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: i bring a new fresh remaster to your songs. I just don't "make it louder". I keep the full dynamics of the songs but I make each instrument and vocal stand out at a nice even volume. No brick walling here!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: You the client sends me an audio file and i will remaster it. For everyone track you send me you get 2 tracks in return. 1 new remaster and an also A-B comparison track that compares your original to my new remaster. So you can hear the difference in real time as the song plays.

A: I use the DAW(Digital Audio Workstation) REAPER. It has an amazing amount of options for mixing, mastering and remastering
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Michael Wagner and Bill Metoyer. Amazing mixing and mastering engineers
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Remastering and Mastering. I thrive on taking low quality recording and making a new remaster that is light and day better compared to original.
