Interview with jaydobeatzz

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: There is a balance. That all depends on the song, however recording thru analog gear is better in my opinion, and mixing/ mastering digitally is better.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: King 2. I was the producer, mixing, mastering, and spatial mixing engineers.

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: An album. Stay tuned!

  7. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  8. A: Nope, not yet.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I will do exactly what I advertise.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Being part of creating music, knowing Iaccomplished something start to finish.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: "Why is the final master so much quieter than the recording?" My answer is simple: The recording was too loud. Take a listen to all your favorite artists and hear the track levels are lower than your raw recording.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Rap. Just because I have albums and an artist page doesn't mean I rap. Look elsewhere!

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What feel are you looking for, and how can we achieve that?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Get as clean of a recording as u can. The clearer the recording, the clearer the mix.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My PC, Atmos 7.1.4 Surround System, Pro Tools Ultimate, KORG keyboard, FL Studio.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: Took Music Engineering and Production I and II in High School, self taught myself the rest, studying Audio Engineering in SUNY Purchase college.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Clean, Efficient, Consistent.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Future, Feid, the Weeknd. They are my favorite artist. Any producer's dream is to work with their favorite artists. Getting the opportunity to work with Lenny Tavarez was a dream-come-true for me, as he is one of my favorite reggaetón singers.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Don't rely on your eyes much. Close ur eyes while producing or mixing/mastering and really immerse urself in the music/mix.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Hip-Hop/Rap, Trap, Boom Bap, R&B/Soul, Latin, Reggaetón, Pop.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Mixing and Mastering.

  36. A: Take a listen, youll hear my sound.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Its a secret.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

Beast custom-built computer with 64-Core Ryzen Threadripper CPU, 64 gb RAM, Nvidia GeForce 3090 ti GPU. I have an analog SSL master bus compressor as well as some Neve EQ and compressors.
