Interview with Streetz Myestro
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am getting started on my next sample loop pack and a possible EP release with some artists that I've worked with many times.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. Less hassle. Less clutter. But still love the analog sound.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will give you my best.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I'm creative, so having the ability to do something I love and to share it with other people is fulfilling.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Have everything you need or at least the important questions you need answered so that a service can be better provided for you.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Midi keyboard, full computer setup, speakers, headphones, mic. But none of that matters without power. Lol
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started out making beats, then rapping shortly after. I had a lot of friends that needed to record, so that led to me ending with a studio in my attic high school. That turned into knowing a lot of the artists in my city and the idea of a label sprung up, and then I ended up part-owner of a indie label. Got burned out, retired, then decided to only produce and do some mixing here and there. I started my actual journey in '94.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style of production is dark and laid back, which I know is weird. I'm a laid back person, so mellow, smooth type beats are a natural. But I also like a hard beat to get that neck snapping.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't let anyone tell you there are rules to this. There isn't. Be creative and feel free.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rap and RnB.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Adapting to what's current. I don't like behind an old relic.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Small home studio with just the basics. Nothing fancy outside, but a lot going on in the computer though.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mainly do beat making and some mixing here and there.
