Hey, I'm Kyle, a mixer who is also an artist, ready to help you bring your song to life, understanding the entire process from your point of view. I always promise to deliver high-quality work in a timely fashion, making me the perfect choice for anyone that wants great work, done fast, with a highly communicative and experienced professional.
Why I'm here is I love working with others and helping them make the most of their artistry. Let me help you mix your music and make it sound even better than you hear it in your head.
I've always loved music, starting out learning to play guitar in my teens. Since then, I've become a dedicated mixer, producer, and artist who can also play keys, dive deep on synths, and create captivating beats for the modern world of rock, pop, and hip hop. I've toured the world as an artist, worked in many high class studios over the years (my favorite being Sonic Ranch in West Texas), and continue to create and make my own music in my band The Holy Knives, while also branching to mix for others, helping them bring their creative vision to life.
I've been lucky enough to be in the room with some amazing producers and artists including Jamie Hince (The Kills), Damian Taylor (Bjork, The Killers, Arcade Fire), Mike Sapone (Brand New, Grouplove), and Manuel Calderon (Beach House, The Chamanas). Through my time with them, I've learned how to do every part of the production, songwriting, and mixing process, and can help anyone bring their vision to life from initial voice memo to sending the finished mix off to mastering.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

I'm really happy having contributed once again with Kyle, and I sincerely hope this is another of many opportunities to come for us to collaborate. Communication was easy and clear and the material is great. Couldn't ask for more!

Interview with Kyle Valentine
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to deliver a high-quality product that is tailored to your vision with excellent communication and a willingness to work within your deadlines. I promise that you won't be disappointed when you go with me!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop, a mellotron, Moog model D, Arp 2600, and a Fender Jazzmaster.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always remember the big picture as you're working. For songs with vocals, at the end of the day the singer, the vocal performance, and the song itself is going to be what translates to the listener, so always keep in mind the ultimate goal—having your song resonate with your audience. As much as I love and enjoy diving deep on fine-tuning a kick drum sound, endlessly processing synths, trying new samples, creating transitions, bus processing, etc., the most important thing is creating an experience via production and mixing that will allow the listener to connect with the song and feel whatever it is the song is wanting the listener to feel. Music is all about staying true to the feeling.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My dedication. I always give every project 100% of what I've got, and I never quit until everyone is beyond satisfied with what we're doing.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring everything. I bring everything an artists needs from me. I am driven and adaptable to create the best product that we can together. I always want to bring an artist's vision to life, and I use my expertise to translate what they're hearing into the technical side of mixing to create a mix that's perfect for whatever the song calls for.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I LOVE MUSIC. I listen to a vast array of artists and genres, which I believe aids my ability to bring both a unique and unified sound to whatever mix I do. Some artists I love include: Kendrick Lamar, James Blake, Portishead, Massive Attack, Travis Scott, Jeff Buckley, Gorillaz, St. Vincent, TV on the Radio, Hank Williams, Arctic Monkeys, Tyler the Creator, Westside Gunn, Fontaines D.C, The Kills, Nick Cave, Bjork, and the list goes on! Some of my favorite mixers and producers in no particular order are Mike Dean, Tchad Blake, Shawn Everett, Stuart White, Tom Elmhirst, Illangelo, Paul Epworth, Danny Harle, Jeff Bhasker, Nick Launay, and Marcella Araica.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My main focus is mixing. I love to help artists bring their song to life. My goal is to use my mixing expertise to make an artist sound even better than an artist hears it in their head. I always strive to do everything possible to deliver a top-quality product that aligns with my client's needs and artistic vision. As an artist myself, I understand how important it is to create something that really resonates with the artist first and foremost. My job is to also make sure that sound translates to the audience as well and is competitive in the modern music landscape. What sets me apart is my passion, communication, and timeliness. I always put my clients first and make sure to deliver a mix to meet their deadlines, all the while creating an exceptional final product.
