Interview with Lukky

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: Nothing beats having the chance to record in a huge studio with walls and walls of analog racks. But if you know how to use digital gear well, you can make high quality music from your own home. Also, it all depends on what you want to record, the music genre, budget, etc.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I have said it before and I'll say it again: I will not rest until you're completely satisfied and I'll leave my heart and soul in the tracks I provide.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: Having the possibility of working in what I absolutely love and being able to do it from my own home.

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: What's the story behind the project? What kind of feeling do you want to achieve with the tracks I will be recording or the song I will be writing? I want to know as much as I can about the project and what the client thinks it will be when it's finished.

  9. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  10. A: Leaving your project in the hands of a stranger is always hard to do. I've been on the customer side many times too. That being said, my whole life revolves around music and not a day goes by without it. I care deeply about everything that I work in and I will not rest until my client is totally satisfied with my work. I will always be available to chat and answer any of your doubts or requests. You can count on me.

  11. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  12. A: My Blue Kiwi microphone, my trusty Ibanez XPT700, a Fender Telecaster and a can of Pepsi.

  13. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  14. A: I've been playing live and writing music for more than 15 years and I've been a session musician and songwriter for other artists for more than 7 years.

  15. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  16. A: The Midnight. Their music hits me like nothing else.

  17. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  18. A: Sometimes inspiration comes from unexpected situations. Go out for a walk, hum totally random melodies in your head and record them in your voice notes every time you come up with something interesting, write cool words and phrases in your phone notes. Everything helps!

  19. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  20. A: I mainly started working on 80's Rock and Metal, but during almost 10 years of working as a session musician and songwriter for other people, I branched out into all kinds of different works, including commercials, TV and movie soundtracks, children's music, etc.

  21. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  22. A: Also I can do it all! From lyrics writing to full songs. You won't need to hire anyone else than me. Also, nearly endless creativity. Having listened to very different music genres throughout my life and having the ability to draw some inspiration from all of them and apply it to a specific song.

  23. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  24. A: Memorable and catchy melodies that you will hum for weeks. I focus on the song's melodic and harmonic strengths and elevate it as much as I can.

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: Clients usually hire me for Vocal Recordings, Lyrics and Topline Writing, Guitar Recordings and Songwriting.
