HI! My name is Manuela, I'm from Milan, I've been a bass player for 10 years now. I studied at the academy, I graduated and I immediately started working in the world of live and studio music. I work both for emerging artists and their projects helping them find the right bass line for their songs and sometimes I also work as a musician for entertainment such as a band for weddings, private parties, etc...
I play a variety of genres but focus more on hip hop, rap, pop, soul, r&b, funk and singer-songwriter accompaniment music.
I also playing the synth bass that I introduced into my instrumentation adding electronic bass sounds into my projects

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: It's an Italian artist's project and I really love it because the drummer and I worked on it together for months arranging the pieces and a beautiful job came out

A: on artists' original songs

A: Unfortunately no

A: Digital, it's very comfortable but I must admit the analog sound is the best

A: I'll try to transform what's in your head in real sound

A: That I always discover something new about my instrument and by skills.

A: how much time do you need? How much money do you ask? I just be honest on the answer
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I'm the "second guitar"

A: What kind of bass line do you want? What sound do you want? What effects do you want? Do you need it for commercial or original songs?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I look at the detail and I want the customer to be completely satisfied

A: the bass, the synth bass, headphones, computer, sound card
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been doing it for 10 years. I took private lessons from the age of 14 then at 19 I entered the academy and graduated. I started working as a musician and in the meantime I studied double bass

A: Elegant, groovy, pleasant
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Again, my dream would be with St. Vincent because she is a genius. All her works are just amazing.

A: Understand what the song or the piece wants to communicate

A: Hiphop, rap, pop, funk, alternative, rnb, soul, rock
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: The dynamics I use with my hand on the instrument
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Sound quality from my bass. The right amount of notes and the right time where to play
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I listen many times to the production/song, then I find the key and the line or the groove, I try to play on the song, then I add the details and then listen to it again to see if I missed something
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have 3 basses: one V strings, a fender jazz and a fender precision. I use the Hotone Ampero or the SansAmp pre amp accompanied by the Boss OC2 if needed for my sounds nd I record on Ableton
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My mentors are always been St. Vincent, Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, Snarky Puppy, The Blaze, Tyler the Creator and many others
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly do live concerts for artists' original music but I also create bass lines for/with the for their productions
