I am an audio engineer, specialising in audio and music production, recording, mixing and mastering, as well as well as audio advertisement production, such as radio ads. I enjoy working on a range of projects and enjoy tailoring my skills to the project at hand.
My name is Sam and I am a sound engineer from Norfolk in the United Kingdom.
My specialties involve audio and music production, recording, mixing and mastering as well as audio advertisement production, such as jingles and radio ads. I am incredibly enthusiastic about audio production as it offers so much opportunity for creative decision making and networking with talented individuals.
After completing my Audio and Music Technology course and university, I have engaged in a range of projects. Examples include, radio ad production fro Future Radio in Norwich, i which I produce custom jingles and beds, take a recorded voice over and create a coherent and punchy radio ad.
Further examples include audio production for an advertising studio called Cambridge Chronicles. Here I create custom soundtracks for projects, record on-site interviews, and edit audio in post-production to ensure that the audio is of high quality and the speech is clear.

Interview with SG Sounds
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Depending on the project, I usually prefer to have a brief consultation with a client to establish what they want and what's best for the project. This can be done via phone call or over email. For music production projects, I would begin creating prior to studio sessions to create a draft that can then be changed and altered on the day of recording. Alternatively, I can start from scratch in the studio on the day of recording, so that both the client and I can produce the track from the ground up together. For recording, I offer the option to record at their choosing of location, whether that's at home or a local studio space, or at my home studio. I would then establish the best microphones to use for the instrument/audio source. For mixing and mastering, will take recorded audio files, create an initial mix, and then send them to clients in case they would like me to make revisions. I will then send audio files to clients, post-payment.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a home studio setup. It consists of multiple audio interfaces for projects that require more inputs. I have Yamaha HS5 stereo monitors, a Macbook with Logic Pro and a variety of plugins. I have built acoustic panels to reduce reverberation in the room. Additionally, I have a MIDI keyboard, Poly D Analog synthesizer, and multiple electric and acoustic guitars with a Fender Supersonic amplifier.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am very much inspired by the likes of Kevin Parker from Tame Impala, as his approach to music production is so unique and interesting. He inspired me to get into synthesizers, a hobby which has cost me too much money!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common work I do for clients currently is music production related projects. This can range from jingles for radio shows, intro tracks for companies, all the way to soundtracks for artists. I enjoy tailoring my skills in audio and music production to the project at hand!
