Every job I do is given the passion it deserves. I specialize in mixing and/or mastering unique electronic music with a creative touch. I love electronic music - I love to mix and master - I have a great ear. I hope to work with you.
Hi all, I'm Asher. I love electronic music and sound in general. I got a late start in life with my musical endeavors, but have a great ear for what sounds good.
I offer mixing and/or mastering services for different subgenres of electronic music. I really like sounds like Burial, Balam Acab, Holy Other, Thom Yorke, Four Tet, etc. I lean towards being on the experimental side of these genres.
I have a few years experience mixing and mastering my own music and decided to branch out to help others reach their creative musical goals. I love the analog sounds of correctly modeled plugins and aim for an organic sound when I mix and master.
Together, I hope we can achieve greatness.

Interview with Celeryfox
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on a concept album which I am producing and writing.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital, with an analog touch. I don't have the money and time to have a bunch of analog gear sitting around. Maybe someday?
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to ALWAYS put everything I have into my work. I deliver passion and love along with your tracks. Satisfaction is necessary.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love everything having to do with sculpting audio.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What creative direction do you want this song to go in? How much communication do you want to have during the process? What is your LUFS target?
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I always messed around with audio stuff for years, but didn't start my path in the music profession until about 4 years ago. I am now almost 40, and wish I had started sooner. My learning is fast and my ears are great.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Saturated bass and smooth textures.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Burial. Favorite electronic artist of mine. His textures and mood are unmatched.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always believe in what you hear, not what the pretty plugins tell you.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Downtempo electronic.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I have a great ear for what sounds good. I know what tools to use for the job.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: When mixing, I bring a great ear for what needs to be done creatively to make the song stand out. I have a great ear for EQing synths and tying everything together like glue. When mastering, I know that subtlety is always best, and I strive to get the sound loud, but retain transients.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I listen through the song a few times to get a feel for the style and mood of the music. If I'm mixing, I usually start with gain staging tracks and then listen for any obvious problems I can fix easily. Then I fine tune from there. When mastering, I usually listen to the mixdown several times and start by checking to see if the track needs any tape saturation. I then move on to subtle EQ changes, then compression (usually 1 plugin, sometimes 2). I then check levels to see if I need to add a soft clipper. My go to limiting plugin is Master Plan, which is the final step of the process.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use a Windows PC. I use dual monitors. My audio interface is a PreSonus Studio 68c and I have a PreSonus Faderport that I use with my DAW, PreSonus Studio One. My MIDI keyboard is a Novation Impulse 49. I really like Universal Audio plugins along with Softube, Fabfilter, Sonible, u-he, Arturia, Apogee and others. I use Sony MDR-7506 headphones while working and use SoundID Reference software to give them a flat curve.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Burial, Thom Yorke, Lusine
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mix and/or master their songs.
