Hip Hop Recording Studio
Come record your next tracks here at PAP Studios. We have the perfect space for Hip Hop and R&B vocals to capture your voice, and we use high quality software tools and hardware to make it sound incredible!
We are local Bay Area gurus who have been involved with hip hop and rap since the late 90s. Although we are producers now, we started out as young rap artists whose love of the music led us to become beat makers, talent managers, consultants, and ultimately producers. We now have a boutique-like studio space located in Hayward, CA.
Our space is plush, cozy, and comfortable with seating, drinks, and snacks for our recording guests. We use Cakewalk Sonar as our production platform, and a suite of software for vocal processing, mixing, and mastering. Vocals are recorded on a Rhode NT-1A mic in a custom, purpose-built sound booth to capture your voice with impeccable clarity.
Although we are not audio engineers by trade, we have decades of experience in rap and hip hop production, and we have all the tools necessary to help with your project at any stage of the process, from concept to publishing. We work with lots of new and first-time artists who have never been to a studio before, so we know how to help get your feet wet in the booth and help you get comfortable performing at your best.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.
Interview with PAP Studios/K-Dubb Productions
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip Hop, Rap, R&B
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: We have a recording template, import the beat/instrumental to the track, step into the booth, and start recording. Simple as that. During recording, we will start mixing the song so that by the end of the session, there is a lightly mixed and presentable product. Further mixing is done later (with your feedback). Mastering is done by request in a similar fashion.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Custom-built space, purpose-built sound booth for vocals with thick insulation to keep all external sounds out, carpeted to take out most (if not all) echos, big enough for a small group but best for individuals. Space for a few guests in the lab with a couch, snacks and drinks.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: JT The Bigga Figga, huge inspiration as a local, self-taught producer and businessman. All Bay Area rap artists have been inspiration.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: We mostly record vocals for new artists who bring their own beats/instrumentals, then mix those songs to perfection.
