Hey! I’m Ethan, I'm an EDM producer with eight years of experience in music production, mixing, and mastering.
Currently, I am honing my craft as a student at the University of Southern California, one of the leading institutions in both academics and artistic innovation.

As a young producer, I bring a fresh and innovative approach to EDM. My youth is not just a number—it's my edge. It allows me to tap into the latest trends and technologies, blending them with timeless techniques to create music that is both modern and memorable. This unique perspective ensures that my productions stand out in the usually extremely saturated landscape of electronic music.

My services include: Music Production, Mixing, and Mastering.

I believe in collaboration and humility. Every project is a work of passion, and your insights are crucial to our mutual success. Together, we can craft soundscapes that not only resonate with your audience but also propel you to the forefront of the EDM scene.

Are you ready to elevate your sound with a producer who is as passionate about innovation as you are about music? Let’s create something extraordinary together.

Interview with Ethan Pollak

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: It's sadly unreleased we're working on pitching it to a major artist on the pop industry. I was the lead producer, Mixing and Mastering Engineer. I'm proud of it because it's honestly my best work yet. I recorded the vocals of a friend of mine and they sound beautiful.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: A couple of EDM tracks and some Pop mixing and mastering.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Yes! Aaron Roman!!

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both. I want to preserve the warmth of an analog sound by surgically processing it as cleanly as possible. and the only way I can process something with as much precision is by using digital gear.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise I'll work my triple best on whatever you give me. All projects leave the oven as professionally sounding as I can make them be, no matter what the type of song or genre. I'm committed to delivering diamonds and only diamonds.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I get to make people happy with one of the few things that makes us human. Music! It's such a beautiful social career filled with awesome people and genuinely amazing experiences.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: To share my secrets with them of how I got X sound! My answer normally is a detailed explanation.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That EDM producers can only do EDM. I learned sound design for something.. Ask me to do metal and I can run a saw wave through an amp and have that be extremely post processed and you'll get a lead metal guitar sound. I can do pretty much every genre thanks to my sound design skills.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: How do you want to feel. What is the emotion you want to feel and convey with what you want to commission.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Be as descriptive as possible! Don't be shy with asking what you want if you want to abstract and just say a vibe you want the song to give you or be very specific I won't judge!

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Fusion Nuclear Reactor Energy Plant, My computer with Ableton Live, a keyboard, Phase Plant, ATC SCM45A Speakers.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started in middle school! As soon as I got back from school I would go to my room and open Ableton and work from 4pm to 12am every day and (Sorry Ms. Ingrid..) Not do my homework. I loved music and it was the only thing that made me feel alive.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: World building! I believe in the concept of sonic architecture- building a world using sound~ I think that describes best what my intentions are when producing, mixing or mastering. If the song doesn't feel like a movie then I've failed.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Probably one of my inspirations they all are extremely talented!

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: I'd say learn the rules of audio engineering and why they exist and exploit them. Innovation comes from breaking the rules, doing something you aren't meant to do.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: EDM and Pop!

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Sound Designing! I love synths and the process of birthing a sound that hasn't been heard before.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Innovation, Freshness and Impact.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Depends of the service. If it is a Mixing or Mastering service I will be opening Pro Tools Ultimate and working on the project there. If it is a Music Production service then I'd work in Ableton Live.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: My studio setup consists of an Apollo X, Adam Audio Speakers, Audeze LCD X Headphones and a Blanket!

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: People like Virtual Riot, Nasko, Zedd, Porter Robinson, Madeon, Ryuichi Sakamoto.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Music Production and Vocal Tuning.
