Piano, keys, and pads for your folk, pop, rock, or ambient project. Whether you want an acoustic piano, a vintage keyboard, a subtle pad texture, or something else, let me provide you with a quality track that's creative and tailored to your vision.
I've done remote keyboard work for quite a few projects across the folk, pop, rock, and ambient, and Americana genres and I'd love to contribute to yours. I've worked on everything from dense mixes to sparse arrangements. Whether you're looking for a grand piano sound that takes up the primary sonic space in your song, or a subtle soundscape that helps your other elements gel together, or anything else you can think of, I'd love to help you realize your creative vision. In the past, people have commented that I am good to work with, efficient in my work, and provide a good result. Thanks for considering working with me!

Endorse Nick DahlquistInterview with Nick Dahlquist
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Everything is a tool, and as long as it sounds good and is inspiring to use, I'm a fan of it. (But don't get me wrong, I want to own $4,000 vintage compressors as badly as the next guy).
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Just be a kind, considerate, and communicative person, and we'll have a good time working together!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I enjoy playing strong, minimal parts that work well in the mix, but I also love to flex a little bit and play funky!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I typically work with singer-songwriters who are producing music in the folk, Americana, pop, and ambient genres.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a genuine desire to collaborate with the instruments that are already part of the production, and help realize the vision of the artist.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: An acoustically treated home studio with a range of quality microphones, Universal Audio interface, and many quality software tools.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Remote tracking of piano, keyboards, and vocals for singer-songwriter productions.

Typically a 1 week turnaround time. After that, I'm usually up for doing 2 revisions to nail your vision. If the edits are minimal, I'm happy to do a 3rd revision.
