Garret Lang on SoundBetter

I am an accomplished musician and audio engineer with credits that include Matt Berninger (The National) Johanna Samuels, Lisa Loeb among many others.

Hi! My name is Garret and I am a bassist, multi-instrumentalist, engineer and composer based in Los Angeles. I started playing upright bass at the age of 10 and attended the prodigious arts magnet Los Angeles County High for the Arts. I continued my music education at the New School in New York City. After graduating, I moved back home to Los Angeles and immersed myself in the thriving indie music scene. Over the past 10 years I've performed and recorded all over the United States.

While I am comfortable playing in any genre, I am at my best when playing pop, rock, country and jazz, both electric and upright basses.

I also am an accomplished Audio Engineer. Since 2018 I have managed the recording studio Knobworld. I've recorded jazz, classical, pop and film scores. I also have extensive experience mixing and scoring podcasts with credits that include NPR, APM, Pushkin and PRX.

Contact me through the green button above and let's get to work.
