I started making beats because I was writing my own songs. Decades later, I'm still doing both. Went from pre-made loops and mouse-clicks to composing my own material. I've worked with independent artists from LA to NYC to Houston, and every beat is made with artists in mind.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My own material
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I prefer analog but I work on digital. It's for this reason I like using LUNA with Neve Summing for mixing songs
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I treat each engagement with respect, no matter what you pay
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Finding chord progressions that move people, and creating songs that resonate
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How much? Answer is it depends. Independent artists have to pay for many things to release music, so I adjust to meet their needs. At the same time, my time is valuable.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Honestly, I don't know

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be upfront about where you are and don't assume you know what I'll say
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: a lot of minor keys with trap drums
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: artists who lean positive and and also like using atmopheric type beats.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Often times its addition through subtraction. For instance, if you need more sub, you probably don't to boost the sub freqs but instead need to cut in the mids.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I've learned how to channel ME into the composition. When you hear my production, it's my sound. Not someone else's, so the biggest thing is you are getting a piece of who I am as a person and producer
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I utilize Native Instruments Maschine, Komplete Kontrol, and many paid-for soft-synths. I record using Universal Audio gear
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Pretty much anything in the dark trap or alt r&b lanes, and I lean more toward positive music
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: original music production
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I generally work on R&B type beats but with hip-hop or trap drums. This is why Alt R&B is a natural space for me.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is being able to anticipate the artist because I'm also an artist. So I've learned how to create beats that are "simple" but highly effective, which then allows for the artist to shine.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I am a melodic type producer, so 99% of the time I start experimenting with chord progressions until something resonates with me. Once I find a progression that I like, I then start working in drums and then I will iterate between the two, while adding in elements in sub and then instrumentation.
