People tell me I stop them in their tracks and give them chills when they hear me sing - I stand confident in my ability to deliver on that. I've got a country heart with a city soul, who is an expert at expressing raw emotion through my voice.
Given my intense love for singing soul music, projects of that nature will get priority attention. I work out of my home studio and have the ability to send vocal clips of your preferred file format within 72 hours (unless I am traveling, which I will make you aware of before we agree to work together).
I have 7 years of recording, writing and singing experience for many different genres, including: alt/rock, bluegrass, R&B, country, and gospel. I know, singers say they can do these genres. But I promise you I can actually do them WELL.
If your tracks aren't fleshed out lyrically, I really love putting lyrics together like puzzle pieces. The top themes I like to write to are: love (romantic and universal), uplifting, triumph, high-vibrations, celebration.

Interview with Nina Grae
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: The Knight + Grae "8" project. It was my first experience writing and recording all-original material and my music partner, Steve Knight, was such a mentor to me during that time. The first song on that EP, 'We Are Creators' is still one of my favorites, ever.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently I am working with the DJ duo N1TEL1TE on a collaborative project.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I love it when someone knows exactly what they want, and how I can make that possible. Take a little time to dream up your best-case-scenario regarding the track and do you best to communicate that to me.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Journal + Pen + Guitar + Garageband + Microphone
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: First talent show was at 5 years old. Musical theater since. College, business degree, corporate tech sales in SF, soul was dying blah, blah, blah. Steve Jobs died, I woke up. I realized how much of a difference I wasn't making and how much music was pulling me back. So, on the day of his death, I quit my job and committed to music-making, full-time. I model part-time and LOVE MY LIFE.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Raw soul with a handful of heart and dash of swag.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Diplo (Thomas Wesley Pentz). He's a modern day wizard and has mastered the ability to get people MOVING.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I don't like working on songs I don't believe could be HITS. I understand some people do it for the pure art of expression, but I'm in this game to reach people, so the question, "Would I actually bump this in my car?" is one I constantly ask myself to make sure I'm not diving too deep into my own cathartic rabbit hole.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: EDM, Soul.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Writing melodies that catch your ear and singing them with heart.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: SOUL.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like quick turnaround and staying amped about a song, so the sooner we get to completion, the better! No lag time, por favor.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Shure MV51 recording microphone, isolation booth, 2015 MacBook Pro. I record into Garageband and convert file to whatever type the producer needs.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Diplo, ODESZA, Jess Glynne, Kygo, Ed Sheeran, Lauryn Hill, Jon Bellion
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Typically I am sent 75% finished EDM or R&B tracks - I them send back recorded lyrical and melodic structure which the producer builds around to finish.
