Lyricist & Ghostwriter

Experienced poet and lyricist and occasional ghostwriter- published poet and writer, having also assisted 2 international authors.

I've been a poet and have written lyrics all my life, with one poem (with a hip-hop-inspired rhyme scheme) being picked up by an aspiring California-based rapper. While this has not always been an overriding priority in terms of life focus (with other work, work with writers and postgraduate education etc.) I have a strong linguistic background and a natural sense of the rhythm and inherent poetry of the English language.

I have a lot of lyrical experience succinctly tackling areas like spirituality, meaning and satirical takes on modern society, as well as clever hip-hop-style self-aggrandizement or just deliberately simplistic and cliche lines, in an ironic sense. I also have familiarity with German, French and Spanish.

(The one audio sample I could include is primarily pop musically and hasn't got particularly 'hard' themes or allusions, but still has pretty intricate pop-rap lines with lots of multi-rhymes and references.

As one small example, the line 'My will can't be tamed', beyond its obvious direct meaning, also references 'Can't Be Tamed' Miley Cyrus working with Mike Will and will.I.Am and references 'Will[iam]' Shakespeare, who wrote 'The Taming of the Shrew', which also links to 'shrewd' being in the line before and 'hate' being in the line afterwards, as The Taming of the Shrew was also the inspiration for the movie '10 Things I Hate About You'.)
