producer & mixing engineer

Okan Çam on SoundBetter

Producer and mixing engineer from Türkiye with 295+ credits and 3.9B+ streams, working with Gazapizm, Semicenk, Lil Zey, Jefe and many more.

I learned the craft through hands-on work and technical research rather than formal training, and I bring a problem-solving, trial-and-error approach to every session.

I've mixed and produced records for Gazapizm, Semicenk, Halodayı, Lil Zey, Jefe, Bedo, Fredd, Lukhan, Saian, Çağrı Sinci and Lia Shine. I did the sound and synth design for a Nike reel featuring Travis Scott and Carlos Alcaraz, and in 2020 I was awarded "Song of the Year" by Radyo Boğaziçi.

How I work: you get every mix as a private finalmix.io link (a platform I built). You hear the original file and leave notes on the exact second, so revisions are fast and clear. Loudness and true peak are checked on every version.

Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.

Interview with Okan Çam

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: New releases with the artists I work with, and finalmix.io, a platform for sharing mixes and getting notes on the exact second.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: Clear communication, the real file in every review, and a mix that's balanced, loud enough and true to the song.

  5. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  6. A: Which references they like and why, what isn't working in the rough mix, the release date, and which files they need: main, instrumental, clean or a cappella.

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: Listen to their past work in your genre, send a reference track, and be clear about what you want the song to feel like. Good communication matters as much as good ears.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I started producing in 2010 and have been mixing since 2019. I learned through hands-on work and technical research rather than formal training. Since then I've built up 295+ credits and more than 3.9 billion streams, and in 2020 I was awarded "Song of the Year" by Radyo Boğaziçi.

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: Mostly Turkish hip-hop, trap, pop and R&B, plus electronic music and sound design, like the Nike reel with Travis Scott and Carlos Alcaraz.

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: You send stems, a reference and what you want from the song. I send the first mix as a private finalmix.io link, where you hear the original file and leave notes on the exact second. I revise until it's right, checking loudness and true peak on every version, then deliver the final files ready for release.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: Studio One, Barefoot Footprint03 monitors, HiFiMAN Arya Organic and Sundara headphones, a Topping DX5 II and a TC Electronic Clarity M for loudness. I also use tools I built myself: LOUDMETER for loudness and true peak, and finalmix.io for sharing mixes and collecting notes.

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: Mixing singles and albums for hip-hop, pop and R&B artists, often with production too. You send stems, I send each mix as a private link, you leave notes on the exact second, and we finish in a few clear rounds.
