Interview with skvlla
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: No Limit
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on a lot of different genres : Metal, Synthwave, Trap, Boombap, Indie Rock, Dream Pop, Darksynth, Cinematic Music, Ambient, Lofi, Pop-Punk
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: All my different influences and my experience.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It depends a lot on the project. The only thing that doesn't change is that there is a lot of talk with the client, to be sure to give them what they demand.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have Neumann KH 120 speakers, a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (but I'm going to upgrade to a UA Apollo Twin Quad really soon), 6 different guitars (with different features, mics etc.), a bass, a Millenium MPS-850 E-Drum Set with a double kick and a Arturia Keylab 49 MIDI Keyboard. I use a lot of their plugins too, especially the V Collection X.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Depending on the music genre, I am mostly inspired by Modern Metal bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Periphery, While She Sleeps, Animals As Leaders; French Hip-Hop artists like SCH, Laylow, Kaaris; Indie Pop/Rock artists/bands like Aurora, Hozier, Zed Yun Pavarotti; and Synthwave/SynthPop artists like Kim Wilde, Kavinsky and Daniel Balavoine.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I compose songs or orchestral pieces, record guitar/bass, compose guitar solos, and mix the whole thing.
