Daniel Fernandes

Cinematic Music Producer

Daniel Fernandes on SoundBetter

I make dreamy electro-cinematic music with memorable melodies and otherworldly soundscapes.

Need some unique music for your film or video game? I may be able to make that happen!

I've been producing music for about 6 years, and my approach has been of learning by experimentation. I take inspiration from a variety of artists in the EDM and electro-pop scene, such as Owl City, Porter Robinson, Coldplay, and Last Heroes.

I'm also inspired by many scifi movies and game soundtracks. Particularly, I'm a fan of the soundtrack for Sky: Children of Light, composed by Vincent Diamante.

If you are looking for music of this kind, I would love to work with you.

I release music on Spotify, Apple Music and more under the stage name Twinkling Kites.

My time zone is IST (GMT + 5:30).

Interview with Daniel Fernandes

  1. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  2. A: This is also advice to myself: I think it can be helpful to step back every now and then and spend a little time reflecting on how you're doing, where the bottlenecks are, and what are the things worth getting better at.

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: Dreamy music that is calm or energetic. As for styles, it's a combination of electronic and cinematic elements.

  5. Q: What's your typical work process?

  6. A: I often start with a "seed" idea. It could be a melody, a drum pattern, chord loop, small vocal recording... or anything else. Then I build some core musical ideas around it that can be used throughout the song. Next, I begin the arrangement and sound design, coming up with the rest of the ideas, and gradually transitioning to the mixing phase. After several iterations (with feedback from you), the arrangement and mixing will be complete and the song is ready for mastering.

  7. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  8. A: I take inspiration from a lot of artists, and specially those who can break "rules". You know, people like Porter Robinson, Owl City, and TheFatRat.
