Mike Pro

Recording and Mixing Engineer

Mike Pro on SoundBetter

Budget friendly. Professional quality. Fast delivery. With 10+ years of studio recording and mixing, I pride myself in providing the best sounding version of every song I'm luckily enough to be a part of!

My name is Mike and I've been creating, recording, and mixing music since 2010. I graduated from The Los Angeles Recording School in 2016, earning an Associate Degree in the Science of Recording Arts. Having passed with a GPA of 3.98, I was given the honor of Summa Cum Laude and became a member of The National Honors Society of The Entertainment Arts. From 2016 - 2019, I interned at various recording studios and mixed for dozens of local artists. In 2020 I co-founded the LAF Studio in Fontana, CA where I have been honing my skills and mixing for my dedicated clientele.

Although I enjoy the technical aspect of mixing music, I am a big believer that the "feel" or "vibe" of the song is the true compass for navigating towards a polished product. I treat every song as if it were my own and put my best effort into exceeding my clients expectations each and every time.

I would love the opportunity to work with you and do everything within my power to take your music to the next level!

Interview with Mike Pro

  1. Q: What's your typical work process?

  2. A: First things first, I listen. I let the song tell me what it needs before touching anything. Then I clean the session, do some edits, balance some levels, add some processing, bounce, listen again in the car, and repeat!

  3. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  4. A: I've got HS8's as my daily near fields, HS5's that I use to double check the bass response, and 1 Avantone MixCube to reference my mixes in mono. I operate Logic Pro & Pro Tools with all of the industry standard Waves & UAD Plug-Ins for processing.

  5. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  6. A: Quincy Jones, Mike Dean, Dave Pensado, Dro Hidalgo.

  7. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  8. A: I do a lot of remote mixing and mastering for independent artists and the occasional signed artist through their label.
