I’ve worked with Andy in a couple different scenarios and in each, he delivered perfectly. He is a top notch performer who puts the time in to learn the parts and diligently create what you’re looking for. I once asked him to write and record guitar parts for a song that had everything but guitar finished. I gave him next to no notes on what I wanted and gave him near absolute freedom on the parts he wrote. His parts were better than anything I could have imagined and asked for. Thanks Andy, you’re the man!

Andy is a young, friendly, patient professional who understands music and how it works. His taste in tone and his ability to literally play anything you hum at him is a comfort in the studio and makes for a very efficient session. He takes direction without resistance, but can also deliver surprises when allowed to run loose. His attitude and respect for the craft makes him a joy to work with. He's also low-key hilarious.

If you want efficient work that is also done excellently, Andy is your guy! He’ll nail the tone you’re looking for, the vibe you want, and will even offer a little extra beyond what you probably perceived as possible with his own unique feel! He is talented and very skilled at his instrument within a large variety of intricate , simple, and variable genres… and he enjoys what he does! Every project I show somebody that he’s played on ends with somebody commenting “I love that guitar”. You won’t be disappointed!

Interview with Andy Casile

  1. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  2. A: Jason Isbell - I love playing on great songs and creating the backdrop for great lyrics, and Jason is one of the best lyricists in the world right now.

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: I work mostly with singer/songwriters in the country, Americana and rock world

  5. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  6. A: This is a hard question for me, since I am constantly honing my skills in a lot of areas. But I take a lot of pride in my rhythm playing.

  7. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  8. A: Tastefully crafted parts, executed with the right tone and pocket. However simple or complicated, my guitar parts take songs where they need to go.

  9. Q: What's your typical work process?

  10. A: When a client sends me a track, I first chart the song out. If possible, I like to have a conversation with the client to determine what vibe I should be aiming for. From there, I will plan out and record guitar tracks. I will send the client both amped sounds and DI sounds for reamping, and I try to give the client extra takes where appropriate to provide different options.

  11. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  12. A: I'm inspired by session players like Brent Mason, Kenny Greenberg and Tom Bukovac. These players are experts at crafting parts that serve to elevate the song. That is the kind of player I am striving to be every day. I also draw a lot of inspiration from the beautiful playing of Adam Levy, Bill Frisell, Joey Landreth and Derek Trucks. In their own ways, these players bring beauty, melody and soul out of the guitar. To me, this is what the guitar is about, and I try to harness that in my work.
