Hi, my name is Paul and I have been playing Bass Guitar professionally for 27 years and I'm a native Brooklynite. I'm a versatile, easy going player that loves the music creating process and handles each client with priority and professionalism while still having fun. Ego is not in my vocabulary....I'm about the music!
For the past 16 years to present, I have been the Bass player & MD for the Top 40 group Spoiled Rotten. I'm very sensitive to todays hard times regarding struggling artists in the music industry and I make every effort to be fair and reasonable.
Feel free to call me or email me with ANY questions....I'd love to hear from you :)

Endorse Paul BriscoeI've used Paul on many shows and gigs I've music directed as well as session work. His timing and groove are impeccable. Great control and dynamics. Always open to suggestions without the least bit of ego. I've also sent him charts and come performance time, not only is he well rehearsed, but he'll nail exactly what was written. Highly recommended.
I met Paul at a music store talking about gear. We got to talking about music and started a friendship. I went to see him play live with his band Meridian Voice, and honestly, i was very pleased to see Paul has the gift of tone, precision, professionalism, and fun. if you're looking for the goods, watch out! He's got them. Also such a cool guy.
Paul is a true professional...musician. His music just happens to be articulated on the bass guitar. He is a highly skilled and technical player with experience performing in multiple styles of music. Paul can shred or play to the band and song. Prepared, professional, and great personality - you cannot ask for anything more.
Paul Briscoe makes the Bass come alive! --- and, he is a pleasure to work with!
Paul is one of the finest musicians around, I would never call him a Bass player. Paul's musical ear is spot on and his timing rivals the best drummers in the world. Paul plays without ego and always puts the song first, that means playing whole notes or 32nds. Paul is a pro and is extremely easy to work with, he's pretty damn funny too.
As a drummer, I know how important it is to play with a great bass player. Paul is undeniably one of the best. And as we all also know, there are many great musicians—but it’s not only being a great musician that makes chemistry; Paul is a wonderful person to be around, and one who anyone would enjoy hanging with. A true professional.
Paul Briscoe is not only a fine, top form musician. Most importantly, he plays with joy in his heart.
He is a team player who plays for the music and not for himself. He also brightens up the room with his great spirit. You can't go wrong with Paul.I have worked with Paul Briscoe, in the studio and on live gigs, and can say that he is in my top 5, favorite Bass players list. You can bury the click and compressor, as Paul will lock you down and deliver the smoothest dynamics you could hope for. Everyone I have recommended Paul to has always called back to say, "Whoa!"..... Butch Jones
Paul Briscoe is the guy! I've been working with Paul for over four years and I've never played with a more diversified, talented, easier to work with bass player. His professionalism and abilities are overwhelmingly refreshing and inspiring. He always plays for the ‘song’ and you hear it and feel it consistently.
Paul is one of the finest, most versatile bass players in NYC, with an impeccable sense of time behind the bass. He is an absolute professional, always prepared, reliable and one of the nicest human beings I've had the pleasure of working with! I highly recommend Paul!
In more than 30 years of playing music with many great players, I can honestly say that Paul Briscoe tops my list as THE bass player I want to play with. He is the groovinest, most solid player you'd ever want to meet. He inspires me to play better every time we play. He's a great person who is always well prepared, professional and fun to be with.
Paul is dedicated to his craft, and probably the nicest guy I ever worked with. In my long career, I have worked with many high profile bassists. Paul ranks right up there with them all! I highly recommend Paul!
Paul Briscoe is the Bass player you're looking for. He's a hell of a nice guy; responsible, trustworthy and totally professional. But lemme tell you, do NOT overlook what a badass Bass player this guy is. I make a living doing high level recording sessions. I know some of the best Bass players on the planet, and Paul absolutely plays at that level.
Interview with Paul Briscoe
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: It's always weird to answer questions about what "you do well" or to really look at your skill set in real life terms. But as a Bass player, I'm often told that I have a great feel.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I utilize my dear friend and amazingly talented producer John Campos' studio, One Mind Music for all my Pro-Tools sessions.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Adaptable
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't be married to the notes YOU play, cause they might not be the notes that the music needs. There is no room for ego in music. Especially when you're offering a service to another musician. You can play many things but that clients vision is the one that you should never lose sight of.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: There are way too many to list. I believe inspiration is drawn from all people regardless of profession. Music is not only for musicians, Music is for everyone.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: With the musical landscape changing rapidly with the ease of "home studio" environments, I find the majority of my work on projects is done via internet. Most clients email tracks they'd like me to perform on and o send them back with some takes. It's certainly an easier way to offer services without flying cross country to play on a record, although the magic of a live studio environment, performing alongside of fellow musicians is ALWAYS a great process.
