Hello! My name is Christopher Morin and I have been a musician for over 20 years and composing music for over 16. I'm originally from upstate NY and moved to Southern California in late 2016. I have been in multiple bands and performed at several live shows both on guitar and drums, and slowly began learning about the recording process throughout all of that. In lieu of focusing on live bands & due to my lifelong love for putting music to film, I started my long-awaited journey into scoring. My first film score was for an award winning short film, Dark Cloud, released in the fall of 2023. The score is streaming on Spotify, and the audio reel has a couple parts of that score. The film highlights piano/strings compositions, but I like to incorporate guitar when it works (electric, acoustic & classical). I can accommodate either, with a blend of atmospheric synths and filler drones. Although I have a style, my goal in every scene is to serve the emotions you are looking to portray, whether that be very subtle in the background, or something with more of a presence. I’ve had the absolute pleasure of working with Chris on my short film, Dark Cloud, where he did the background score. What he produced was exactly what I had in mind.
What I absolutely love about Chris is that he is extremely collaborative, he wanted to know about things that you don’t even see on-screen, which spoke volumes to me. Since the film talks about abuse, I wanted something minimal yet impactful. And he did exactly that, if not more.
