Endorse Alejandro SalasI have worked with Alejandro on many record productions and I can only say that he is an incredible producer, arranger, and musician. He is very creative, emotive, and professional. You can be sure that you are in good hands.
Amazing producer! I worked with Alejandro during few projects. He definitely is a professional producer who easy to communicate with. He has good music taste and been efficiency to approach the goal. He has good service attitude, good at multiple music styles! Looking forward to work again with Alejandro! I will recommend him to Yall!
I used Alejandro for a music production for a client and he did a great job at a very affordable price! He was very knowledgeable and professional. He also has a talent for matching the musical concept with the vision of the client. Alejandro is a kind, fair, and dedicated.
Alejandro is an incredible writer, producer, mixing engineer and more. He has an amazing ear and musical mind. He can take any track and push it to a higher musical level in a masterful way. From vocal production to string arrangements to full scale productions - Alejandro is your guy!
I have worked with Alejandro for several years. His ear for sound and production is state of the art! One of the reasons he continues to produce great material is he is constantly evolving as a listener and applicator of new sounds and musical movements. Whether your a seasoned professional or doing your first project Alejandro will out the best in you!
He tenido la experiencia de trabajar con Alejandro desde el año 1987 con jingles educativos institucionales de la Fundación La Salle y CANIA Empresas Polar Venezuela. Su talento y exigencia profesional determinan cada uno de sus trabajos.
Alejandro was a joy to work with. I specifically remember trying to wrap up a particular song on a project and was struggling to bring a brass part to life. I sent it to Alejandro with the worst brass reference but gave him full liberty. What he wrote, arranged and produced MADE the entire song. Professional is great but he’s also intentional and cares about you and your project. The easiest 5 star to give!
I cannot say enough about Alejandro. He has great attention to detail and a great ear. He also knows what to do to take a track from just “OK“ to great.
Alejandro knows how to make a track come alive! From his brass and string parts to just chordal orchestrations… He will give your songs that missing touch!
Alejandro has a keen ability of taking a bland mid-heavy mix and turning it into something dynamic. He has much experience, and though he can work on any genre, he is especially skilled and experienced in the Latin styles.
Alejandro is a great producer. He is a lover or Jesus. He is talented, professional and humble. I love his production because his music is very different and the the expression of his music is very accurate to the theme. He is a genius! He was born to be a producer!
Interview with Alejandro Salas
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Once I worked with all the artists that were part of a well known record company in Venezuela. The song was the one that will be use to encourage the Venezuelan Olympic Team that was traveling to the US in that year. I was in charge of making the composition of that song, words and music, then I produced, arranged and directed all the singers in a huge analog studio in Caracas. That I believe was my great challenge.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am workin with a client from California and also working with a composer and singer here in Kansas City. All the time working with my wife and her songs and also recording my own compositions, specially my instrumental songs.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I love both, the combination of analog and digital makes any song gain double. Although it is very difficult to work in an analog studio in these days, I believe the sound that came from recording in tape (2 inch tape) was amazing, huge sound compared with digital, but today they are a lot of very good plugins that simulates those warm sounds we had in the past. Talking about musicians and virtual instruments, I will say the same, both are important and I will love to have real musicians and at the same time those virtual instruments, digital instruments.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise they will end with a profesional work, that they will be able to release it to the market and it will sound as good as all the music out there.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The freedom to create new songs from zero to a well done music production, small instrumentation or huge orchestration, and anything in between, in any style, Is an art of creation.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I can advice all the years of experience that i have worked, all kind of genres and styles. The years of experience inside the commercial music industry, I believe this means a lot and helps a lot.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My Macbook, my keyboard, my TLM 103 Mic, my Sony MDR-7506 earphones and my Apogee Audio Interface.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been working music productions since the mids 90s, As a musician, pianist and keyboard player my experience is even longer.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Personally I am more a RnB and Reggae lover, but also Ballads, Pop and Latin music I love to work. Anyway I believe I have proof that I can arrange and produce many genres and styles, I just analyze any style and make my work a combination between those styles and my own taste.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I believe a good tip can be, before you start working a song, try to get all the information needed to create a music production that will end good. Meaning, ask the client to send you all the music reference he or she has, that they will love me to follow. Not only ask for those examples but ask for all the music taste they have. What they hear commonly, how they wanted to sound as, etc
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I use to work RnB, Reggae, Latin music, Pop, Ballads, Electronica, Academic music, Children music, Smooth Jazz and many other styles and genres.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Well, I work in my own home studio with top of the line gears. Using the best digital plugins in the market, all inside the last version of Pro Tools and using an amazing audio interface, Apogee Duet 3. Working in a Mac Studio MAX M2 Silicon Technology. Working with the best Virtual instruments in the market. And If I need to record some drums or orchestra, I just go to another huge studio close to me, where I can do any kind of recording and then send all the data to my studio to be finished.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: There are so many that I can not mention all of them, but I can tell that Israel Houghton or Martha Munizzi (Gospel music) are amazing, Also some R&B singers like Jordan Marcotte and some reggae singers like Wallace Faagutu are also super good.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I take a song from scratch and decided which instrumentation it will have, the style off arrange and mood that I believe will go better with the song, completely arrange and produce it from zero to the end, advising the clients on what else should that song have to be pro and catchy, if it needs more people to be envolt, like singers, musicians, etc. After finishing the arrangement and record all the parts in my studio, I send the song to the client with all the information and suggestions, so it can be sang by the client, and after that, I can mix the song and make a pre master of it. Or we can agree to send the song to be mixed and mastered by a different person.
