Charley Beck on SoundBetter

I'm a singer, songwriter and music producer with a First Class Degree in Performance Industries and 10 years of experience working in the industry. I have toured the UK, playing to crowds of up to 5000 and gained thousands of streams and views on my music online. In this time I also worked with legendary record producer Ken Scott (The Beatles).

I'm Charley, a 24 year old singer/ songwriter and producer from the UK. I can be the singer on your pop or pop punk song in my own professional recording studio with professional equipment. I've been writing and performing my own music for over 5 years. I now own my own studio where I produce music full time and I use it to bring not only my own music to life but others too.

So far I've worked with over 50 clients from around the world. Whether that's to help them finish writing a song or recording my own vocals for their song. 100% of my clients have been happy with the work I have produced for them and I don't intend on that changing any time soon.I strive for perfection in my work and you, the client are my number 1 priority. I mainly specialise in pop/ pop punk music but also have worked on country, rock and EDM.

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with Charley Beck

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I'm most proud of what I achieved in my band. We toured, released music, played my dream bucket list venues and worked with musical legend Ken Scott. (The Beatles, David Bowie, Elton John)

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm currently working on my own music, as well as building my recording studio 'Wakefield Recording Studios' client base.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Digital. I've only ever produced with digital gear.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: I promise that the job isn't complete until you are 100% happy with the work in which I have produced for you.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: I like that I get up everyday and do music. I love how I'm constantly creating and inspiring other people through my work.

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: If I can mix and master their work. The answer to that is yes.

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: That I only create music in one style.

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: Who are their inspirations.

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: Make sure you know exactly what you would like from the provider before ordering. If you don't know then trust them to be free with their creativity.

  19. Q: How would you describe your style?

  20. A: Diverse, catchy, memeroable & emotional. I can adapt to change my style to fit another artist or song.

  22. A: I've always looked up to JB. He's the reason I'm doing what I'm doing today.

  23. Q: What's your typical work process?

  24. A: If songwriting, I'll listen to their ideas and track and spend a few days writing and demoing the song. From there I will present the client my demo and if they are happy with the content, I will then proceed to record properly. If I'm just session singing and recording an existing vocal line, I'll ask the client to provide me a rough demo on how they would like me to sing there song. From there I will record vocals for their track exactly how they were written in logic.

  25. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  26. A: Shure sm7b, Macbook pro, a guitar, Focusrite Scarlett 2I2 interface and Beyerdynamic DT990 PRO Open Dynamic Studio 250 Headphones.

  28. A: I was originally a bar tender at a golf club. In left there in March of 2023 to produce music full time.
