Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I was especially proud of my contribution to "MEGAN" by AK Benjamin. I was the music producer and beatmaker for that song. I felt incredibly inspired when I first heard the demo and immediately opened my DAW to start working on it as ideas poured out. I love the tiny details, embellishments, ear candies, and synths I incorporated into the track—each element helps make every section stand out, giving the entire song a super vibey and alive feel. One of my favorite moments is the final section, where I played a synth solo literally on my Mac keyboard (not a MIDI keyboard). That solo added so much energy into the song and completely elevated the track to another level.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently working on a 5-song EP for AK Benjamin, where we’ve incorporated atmospheric synths inspired by Chase Atlantic and RILEY, while also blending in genres like drum & bass, UK garage, and even some alt-rock. I’ve loved this collaboration—not only bringing his vision to life but also helping to further develop his artistic style, creating something that truly represents AK Benjamin as an artist. I’m grateful for his trust in my artistic approach and decisions throughout the production process.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Definitely Chase Atlantic and 6lack, as they are my favorite artists and the biggest influences on my sound. I love how their tracks are never overly complicated, yet packed with small details that come together to create a unique, atmospheric, wavy vibe.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: With a blend of cultural backgrounds, I’m able to weave elements of East-Asian and Western music together in a unique way. My love for Taiwanese, Korean, and Chinese music also plays a big role in shaping my musical style.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I am comfortable working on every aspect of making a record. My favorite part is beat making and production, as it’s incredibly fulfilling to create a hit from scratch. At the same time, I enjoy mixing (including my own songs) and making each element of the track shine.
