Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital, that doesn't mean i don't love analog gear but i think digital is catching up very fast and it's impossible to hate it when it makes your life much much easier. Have you tried mixing in an analog board, is a painfully slow process.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That all my heart and soul will go to the track
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The ability to feel and express emotion to music makes me feel closer to god
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I have lost some clients because they don't find my gear to be as professional or as impressive as they would like it to be
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: To help me understand deeply what musical and emotional intention they have with the song.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: It started when i played the guitar 13 years ago. My life at that time practically was to practice guitar and play videogames. Then 10 years ago i started producing garbage songs on garage band, there were very good times. Then I started to take it seriously when i got into college to study a bachelors in digital music production engineering in 2017. In my college years i founded Rove Music which is the music production company i work as a freelance music producer and since then, i have worked with lots of clients from different styles.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Very pinkfloydesque, or that's what i've been told. Love to give trippy experiences to the listener and make their emotions amplify. I also have a very clean sound as an engineer, i personally prefer to produce songs that feel pleasant to the ears and give the aesthetic feel of spaciousness and ease; that doesn't mean that i like dull sounding records, i love intensity too.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: If I could pick one these days it would be Sabrina Claudio, she's the modern age Sade and I love almost everything she does. Very sexy and emotional R&B
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Make sure the approach you give to music production isn't draining you. Love your craft and the byproduct will be improvement and better produced songs

A: R&B, rock, indie, house, pop, blues, folk, jazz and hip hop

A: Emotional impact, detail and nuance
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It's a very personal and creative process for me. Sounds cheesy but I do it with love, there's no other way. - In the first stages i make sure the musical idea i'm working holds as its own (in terms of melody, harmony, rhythm lyrics and structure) and makes my creativity expand. - Then it's the arrangement process where all the ideas that pop up to my head get captured in a demo session. Some work, some doesn't, but it is a stage that i approach with an open mind, creativity and passion. Just like child's play! - After that it is the recording phase and for that I take my decisions to carefully capture the sound in a way that serves the song, the mix and the emotional impact. If it's an electronic track, I just make sure the sound design of the synths, transitions, effects, drums, percs and bass arrive to a professional standard. - Then it's the mixing process, my favorite stage! I don't consider my mixes to be complicated because it is for me a subtle stage where everything fits in its place perfectly. All the dirty job of mixing when i'm producing a song goes to the recording and sound design phase. So when i approach the mix I do it in a way that i can see a clear path, if i don't see it, there's a problem with the previous stage and it needs to be addressed directly. If it is a song that i'm just mixing and the instruments weren't recorded properly, then i approach the mixing stage also as a sound design phase, by adding samples, using AI tools to get better source, and then follows the actual mixing. - For the mastering stage I make strong comparison to reference mixes to make sure the track holds up to the standards of dynamics, tone and impact the competition has.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I often work with affiliated music studios on my town to record most of the elements but i also count with my humble home studio that i make most of my productions, mixes and mastering. I use an Apollo Twin MKII QUAD, Yamaha HS8 monitors and HS5, have a wide variety of mics: Neumann U47, Shure SM81, AKG 414, Shure SM57 and Baby Blue Bottle. I also have instruments, a wide variety of basses and guitars from fender, yamaha and epiphone and also a Tama Super Star drum kit.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: - Alan Parson as an audio engineer: he always manages to capture the sound so meticulously and with such intentional to what the song needs - Kevin Parker as a music producer: the sound design and the bold production choices - Quincy Jones: one of the best music producers EVER - Pat Metheny, Eric Johnson and Lyle Mays as musicians: hands down these guys are the result of the perfect blend of technical ability and spiritual closeness to the music.

A: I often produce, arrange and mix the tracks i work with my clients.
