Versatile Vocalist Topliner

Netty on SoundBetter

Unique vocalist with over 150k listens on Soundcloud and been featured on major radio stations. I've been performing professionally for 20+ years. I started as a self contained vocalist performing covers around the UK. I am available as a vocalist for your project.

Hi I'm Netty. I have been performing for 20+ years. I started as a self contained pub/club singer. I have paid my dues by beginning in the trenches. Going on the road as a solo singer, really helps to build your confidence. You spend many nights learning how to use your voice and how to captivate an audience.
10 years ago I decided to study music performing at college. I became familiar with music production, music theory and performance techniques. I passed my National Award with the highest grade possible.

• Over 150K plays on Soundcloud
• Winner of Galaxy 102 FM ‘Search For A Star’ singing competition
• Released original tracks and been played on major radio stations like - Galaxy, Wish FM and Rock FM
• Wigan Pier singer, featured on Wigan Pier C.D’s
• Topped the bassline charts for a number of weeks
• Featured in The Wigan Reporter & The Wigan Observer (local newspapers)

I will take precious time with your project. I will be more focused on it sounding amazing, rather than being speedy, shooting for a 7 day turnaround. I will deliver professional high quality vocal recordings (raw/dry 24bit 48k stems) I offer vocals only. If you become a repeat customer, I can offer you my songwriting/topliner service. Vocals are a 'one time fee' (you keep royalties)

Vocals $350
Harmonies $150
Please write your own Adlibs, as not included. This is more toplining territory.

Interview with Netty

  1. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  2. A: Usually things like have I had vocal training, but when it comes to my voice I am self taught.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: The best is yet to come.

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: Actually a Madonna cover and an original track written by me that I'm putting together. I am also going to start a new EDM vocal pack this week. I'm also working on a new website for myself.

  7. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  8. A: I'm still pretty new on here, so not at the moment.

  9. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  10. A: Both. For me, digital is very convenient but analog is great too.

  11. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  12. A: Ultimate professionalism and a vox sounding like no other.

  13. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  14. A: The freedom.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Preparing an amazing vocal is not a fast process. There is alot of time an effort that goes into it, especially editing the vocal. People may be surprised on the time spent when it comes to arranging.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I like to find out what type of vocal they are expecting. I like to get a bit of background on their project and what their future plans are. I also may ask on how long they have been building their experience in the field.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Be passionate and open to ideas.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Mic, Audio Interface, Laptop or iPad, Midi Keyboard.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: Self contained vocalist touring the UK, did this for many years. I learned alot about myself and captivating an audience. This is were confidence grows. Then I went to college to gain an A Level in music performance. Maybe I can teach in the future.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Emotional, gritty, operatic with a Pop/Rock twist.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I've never thought about it because I'm not fussy.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Yes! Don't autotune vocals. It's a cop out. Sing the notes right. Pretty simple stuff.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I like working on pop records, dance records. I am open to try anything.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Raw true emotion.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I would say professionalism, raw true emotion. I definitely have the experience to back up my (humble) confidence. I love to sing and it shows throughout.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I like to listen and listen good, for a lengthy time. I don't like to rush at all. Once I have prepared a rough vocal, I will listen back to it quite a few times, to see where I can improve. Once I know that the confidence is completely there, I'll record. Usually after recording I will have some vocal editing and comping to do, choosing the best cuts.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I have a professional setup at home, with a vocal booth. * Neumann u87 mic * Neve pre-amp * UA Apollo Twin Interface * Logic Pro X

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I like alot of the 80's electro vibe. Erasure, Depeche Mode. I very much like the cheesy 80's pop sound like Stock, Aiken and Waterman but I like a whole heap of different stuff. Anything with big keyboards! speaking more in this era I'd say Years & Years, Hallman. I like anything from bouncy pop to Within Temptation, Nightwish and Metallica.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I do mostly vocal work. EDM vocal packs and cover songs. I will absolutely offer songwriting/ toplining over a beat but I like to establish a good working relationship with the client first, so I can get a feel for the vibe. Check out their social media etc... I would like a client to return a few times and for the collaboration be more organic and natural.
