Hi! I'm Jop Hartog (19) from Kolderveen, a small village in the Netherlands. I'm currently studying Music Production and Engineering at the ArtEZ Conservatory of Music in Enschede. Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Love analog sound, but I work faster in the box.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Making sounds come to live.

A: In a studio: "Do you know what every button does?' Me: "yes. :)"

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been producing since I was 13 y/o. Before that, I played guitar for 5 years. But once I started producing, I immediately fell in love with it.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Warm and dynamic.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Jon Hopkins. Love his hypnotic beats and unique sound design.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Work intuitively and work together.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I started by working on electronic music, but am now also working on pop, indie and alternative music.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I always try to understand the vision of the producer/writer and try to make that happen in a professional sounding product.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually start by listening to reference tracks; making a balance to start; panning; eq; compressing and going from there.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work mostly in the box, but I do have access to studios with analog gear. In the box mixing works best for my workflow.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Some Inspiring artists are Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar, James Blake, Jon Hopkins, Little Simz, Portishead and Fred Again.

A: Mixing and mastering projects in a variety of genres: electronic, pop, alternative, indie, etc.
