The Best Sight-reading Trombonist in 25 years That's how I was described while working as a Trombonist for 5 years onboard RCCL-Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (Liberty of the Seas, Serenade of the Seas, Vision of the Seas, and the 5-star cruise line Azamara Journey). Great tone, and always the best sight-reader of the group.
R. CHUCK JACKS - BRASS SPECIALIST
My primal (primary?) source of income is performing & teaching the Brass family: Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba. My Music Performance Degree is on the Bass Trombone (both Classical & Jazz). I was hired to work as a Tenor Trombone player for 5 years with Royal Caribbean, playing a wide variety of music genres and almost daily sight-reading new shows for Guest Entertainers (R&B, Opera, Broadway, Big Band, Jazz, Oldies, Pop, Rock, etc.).
Outside of cruise ships, I have regular experience with 2 different brass quintets, as well as seasonal to monthly gigs with Big Bands, Community Bands, and School Pit Orchestras.
Thanks for considering me. I'm looking forward to working with you. I've been described as fun to work with but serious when it comes to the music craft. The most common comments I get are "Rock-steady beat," "Great Tone," and "Funny guy."
