Interview with Barcari

  1. Q: How would you describe your style?

  2. A: My style is a mix of rap, R&B, and alternative music. I have a very melodic style, but I also love to write bars as well.

  3. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  4. A: I bring a unique voice and Candence to a record as well as a the ability to convey an idea, tell a story, or set a scene.

  5. Q: What's your typical work process?

  6. A: It depends on the project. If I am creating my own record then I start with producing a beat. Majority of the time by the time I have finished making the instrumental I have already come up with a topic and a chorus. Then I write the lyrics and record.

  7. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  8. A: The project I worked on that I am extremely proud of is my mixtape called 1998. I create this album during my senior year of college. I created in fully in house. I produced all fo the beats, wrote and recorded all of the songs, mix and mastered it, created the cover art, and released it on my own as well! I have to give credit to a dear friend of mine Victoria. She was a monumental part of the executive production of this record and it wouldn't have sounded the way it does without her help!

  9. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  10. A: I am currently polishing my craft at the moment and rebuilding my fanbase. I plan to release more music very soon this year and well as a website launch!

  11. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  12. A: Lex Lundon! He is a software engineer and producer. He is great at what he does!

  13. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  14. A: Both! You can create amazing things with both methods and I believe both are essential to being a well rounded artist.

  15. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  16. A: I promise that I will always do my best to give you the product you desire. I also promise to communicate efficiently and effectively to make sure we are always on the same page.

  17. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  18. A: I love making music! It allows me to express my deepest emotions in a way that I otherwise couldn't through regular conversation.

  19. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  20. A: I have only had one customer on SoundBetter so far. However, I am really to answer any questions you may have!

  21. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  22. A: The biggest misconception is that I love everything I create as an artist. I am a perfectionist and there have been so many times where friends of mine had to force me to put out a song that I thought was bad, but people end up loving it.

  23. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  24. A: is there a specific song or project that I created that they really enjoyed? What did they like about it/them?

  25. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  26. A: I just ask for open communication as well as clear expectations and respect. I am more than willing to go the extra mile for my clients as long as we both work to be on the same page!

  27. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  28. A: I would take my Microphone, Keyboard, Studio monitors, Gaming PC, and Webcam.

  29. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  30. A: I am a government proposal writer by day. I have been making music since I was 14 years old.

  31. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  32. A: I am still looking for new artists to collaborate with!!

  33. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  34. A: "Never copy always create." A lot of times as musicians we try to copy what famous artists are making or what sounds popular at the time. Create something unique, create your own wave to surf on. You will find much more success that way.

  35. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  36. A: I usually work on rap music, R&B, and alternative music.

  37. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  38. A: My strongest skill is my songwriting ability as well as my ability to find different flows and melodies.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I have a home studio setup that includes a MacBook Air, NZXT gaming pc, studio quality headphones, as well as a Maono microphone, and Scarlett Focus rite interface.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I am inspired by Tory Lanez, Rich Homie Quan, Rod Wave, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Whitney Houston, and Michael Jackson. However, I strive to create my own signature sound instead of trying to sound like all of the musicians I have mentioned above.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I do songwriting, vocals, features, beat production, executive production for project work as well.
