Hello, I'm Stella Matteoni - a singer-songwriter, producer, and vocal arranger with 10+ years of experience in the music industry. Based in London, I speak and create music in English, French, and Italian. I'd be happy to support your musical journey, whether by crafting and recording vocal harmonies or toplining your melodies.
I work from a professional home studio and collaborate with artists, producers, and songwriters worldwide.
I accept projects in English, French, and Italian, and I adapt easily to different musical styles and workflows.
I specialise in lead vocals, backing vocals, and vocal arrangements, with a strong focus on harmonies.
My background as a vocal arranger and backing vocalist allows me to quickly understand a song’s structure and enhance it with effective vocal layers.
What I can help you with:
• Lead vocal recording
High quality vocal performances tailored to your song and artistic direction.
• Backing vocals recording
Clean, tight, and musical backing vocals, from subtle doubles to rich harmonic stacks.
• Backing vocal arrangement
Custom vocal harmonies and backing parts that support the topline, elevate the chorus, and add depth without overcrowding the mix.
• Topline writing
Vocal melody writing over your instrumental.
• Vocal editing
Professional vocal comping and natural sounding tuning, ensuring polished vocals while preserving emotion and character.
I value clear communication, reliability, and attention to detail, and I always work in service of the song. Whether you need a single vocal line or full vocal production, I adapt to your artistic vision and technical needs.

Interview with Stella Matteoni
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That vocal arrangement is just stacking voices. In reality, it’s about structure, balance, and knowing when not to add anything.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be clear about what you need and share references if possible. Good communication makes the collaboration smoother and leads to better results.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, indie pop, pop rock, acoustic projects, and singer songwriter music. Anything where vocals play a central role.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is vocal harmony arrangement and vocal layering. I have a strong harmonic background and a good sense of balance between lead vocals and backing parts.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring clarity, structure, and strong vocal arrangements. I focus on making sure vocals support the song, enhance the melody, and fit naturally within the production.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start by understanding the song, the reference tracks, and what the client is looking for. I then build vocal ideas, record clean takes, and refine the arrangement if needed. I deliver well organized stems, ready to be mixed, and stay available for revisions.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by musicians and producers known for their melodic and harmonic writing, such as Paul McCartney, Jacob Collier, and classic British pop writers. I’m also influenced by producers who focus on strong songwriting rather than overproduction.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mainly work as a vocal arranger and singer, creating harmonies, backing vocals, and vocal stacks for artists and producers. I also record lead vocals and toplines, and help structure vocal parts so they sound clear, balanced, and professional.
