FEFE presents a series of traits that are not so easy to find together in a single person: technical mastery of audio, broad musicality and, most importantly, tools to boost and channel the artist's creativity.

Interview with FEFE WAV

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: Im finishing an album for Sony,

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: Axe Follin is a great producer that showed me this platform and someone i collab with and LOVE his work.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Digital, workflow is way faster and convenient. I do use analog for some kind of things when we need to get creative or looking for certain sounds BUT digital will always king because of the workflow.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: I WILL make your song the best possible work you have ever done.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: The precise and little moment when the magic happens and for no explaniable reason, the song is great, alive and soulful.

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: "Can i upload this already? its sounding great!" No, i havent started mixing yet, let me finish! hehe

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: That im doing this for the money.

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: Are you looking to invest time and passion into your craft? Dont make other people lose time if you are not commited.

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: Look for someone who can feel the emotions and vibes of your art just like you do, because thats the person who is going to bring your music to the next level.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: Monitors, Macbook, Microphone, Interface, Midi keyboard.

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: I been doing this for 12 years now and theres neven been a B plan. Everyday i try to push myself into new ways of making music come alive. Looking forward to developing new sounds and finding new artists to break with.

  23. Q: How would you describe your style?

  24. A: Revolutionary and Soulful I always like having fun with what im doing, and the more i surprise my self and others, the more fun i have. I like the idea of working with magic, making something new come to life is my passion.

  25. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  26. A: SZA, Mac Miller. I just love the way they write, the emotions they use for each song.

  27. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  28. A: Less is more, 3 elements make your song great, not more.

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: R&B - HIP HOP - POP - SOUL

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: Bringing the best work of an artist to life.

  33. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  34. A: SOUL. Thats my way, i think music needs soul more than anything else. Of course, having a great sounding mix is key, and i work flawleslly and relentlessly to achieve this technical side, but i focus A LOT on maknig the song feel alive.

  35. Q: What's your typical work process?

  36. A: I usually start with something inspiring me, could be a melody, or a chord, or another song. Then i start this creative process of just letting the magic speak through me to write and compose sparkling ideas in form of seeds that aim to inspire the artists to bring their best work to life. Then, once we are happy and excited with the art we are making, everything goes pretty smooth since with the experience i have, usually the more technical side of producing and mixing happen efficiently.

  37. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  38. A: My studio setup is pretty minimalistic, i do most of my work IN THE BOX due to workflow and because i want to have the ability to jump between sessions quickly.

  39. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  40. A: Rick Rubin, Pharrel Williams, Mac Miller, IllAngelo, Dangelo, OZ, Tyler the Creator, Kanye West, David Gilmoure, among many, many others.

  41. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  42. A: Producing is probably the most common work i do for artists. First, the interview. We listen to several demos and start discussing how we can make this our best work. We usually start with references, moodboards, ideas, and the artists view. After that we start working on the instrumentals, the feels, the emotions we need to enhance, we record instruments, look for samples and work on the lyricis. Then we record vocals on my studio or the artist send me their vocals so i can start the finish touches on the production. After that i mix the project usually alone but sometimes the artists come to the studio to work and vibe with me.
