3x Grammy Nominated Producer Mixing songs with 1,000,000,000+ streams worldwide. I have worked on major releases such as Kx5 - Kaskade vs Deadmau5, Sofi Tukker and Loud Luxury.
I started as a touring artist playing all major festivals (ULTRA, Tommorrowland etc.) and selling out venues all around the world. I have had a lot of success in my artist career but I have taken a step away from touring and focus on Mixing / Mastering. Accolades I have include multiple International / US Platinum / Gold Certified Records, 3x Grammy Nominations, Top40 Radio Hits, Top100 billboard Hits, BBC Radio One and SiriusXM Radio.
I have a big passion for mixing and mastering and I really enjoy it. I like finding creative ways to bring the best out of a work. I always stood out as a mix engineer throughout my career and I would end up doing the final mix on the projects I worked on because of this. I enjoy the people I work with and I look forward to getting in the studio.
I am comfortable mixing almost any genre but I have the most experience in Electronic, Pop, Dance, EDM.
While I am focusing on Mixing and Mastering for the purpose of this post, I am still a fully accoladed producer and do production work as well. I specialize in electronic music namely house, tech, chill, progressive, techno etc.

Interview with Thomas Shaw
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Probably "Purple Hat" - it was one of the bigger records I have worked on. Sofi Tukker are really fun to work with.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Lots of fun stuff. Production wise I produce a lot of chill stuff and house atm.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: first time here
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: both of course
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Its gonna slap.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Its fun! I enjoy working on music.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How do you do it? How are you so fast? I usually just laugh
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I think most people underestimate how much a good mix can change a record.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Due date / Timeline. I have a very high return customer rate so I don't usually have too many questions haha.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Specific direction helps me do the best job i can. Being organized (stems etc.) is very key too.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Acoustic guitar. PC, speakers, midi keyboard, headphones
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been doing this for ~15 years. I was a heavy touring artist and while I still am an artist, I tour much less and do much more production work. It was a natural transition.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Clean. Polished.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Skrillex, hes super nice but we have never accually produced together.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Writing goes a long way. Sound design helps, but a bad idea that is amazingly produced is still a bad idea.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Electronic music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Levels + gain staging. I have a very accurate ear. And quick turnaround.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Being an artist myself its easy to get passionate about a record. Finding the magic in something that might be buried behind a poor mix then bringing that out is my specialty.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I try and get a vibe for what the song needs or is looking for. I repair things first and then accent and attenuate elements to bring out the energy to make it pop.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a fully treated home studio, its a super tight room, sounds incredible and makes it really easy to hear artifacts and details in a mix.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Cass at wired masters does a great job.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Stem Mixing and Mastering work.
