Antonio Ciccarone on SoundBetter

Meticulous chord, flow, and melody-driven songwriter looking for a ghostwriting outlet

I've been writing songs since I was 12. I'm now 42 and recently had the realization that I should/could be ghostwriting. You can check out some of my music at https://antoniociccarone.com/

I primarily write on the piano, sometimes guitar. My style is partially rock-influenced but I believe that my songs are adaptable in the sense of genre, lyric, and structure modifications.

While I can sing, I believe my voice and its tonality, flaws, and awkwardness is more fit for the writing & rough-draft process than being the main character lol

I have dozens of completed songs and many verses, choruses, and earworms - if you find that my style resonates with you or your musical mission I'd love to work together and create something memorable.

Looking forward to collaborating here on SoundBetter.com

Interview with Antonio Ciccarone

  1. Q: How would you describe your style?

  2. A: My songwriting is mostly slow and structured, but I can hear the actual songs in many different styles - it depends on the day.

  3. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  4. A: I'd be happy to work with any talented artists honestly, I love almost everything by Kanye West and Lil Wayne (can I just ghostwrite the samples they use in their songs?) The band Muse might be a good fit for my style of writing, I'm actually not sure

  5. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  6. A: Fully disappear into the song, it's the only way that I can write and record. Getting up and walking around helps too lol

  7. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  8. A: Rock, downtempo, folk, indie, sad pop. I'm not sure what genre I've been writing, they've just been coming out much more frequently as of late.

  9. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  10. A: Hearing a chord progression and almost immediately mentally writing sounds and melody that fit.

  11. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  12. A: I like to think that I bring flow. Whether it be lyrical, chordal, or melodic I think my attention to flow detail is something special.

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: Currently I jump in and out of my songs, editing and improving (hopefully) as I mentally loop parts over in my head.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: Nothing fancy! Macbook, electric piano, acoustic guitar, microphone, Ableton

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: I listen to a lot of genres, my songwriting inspiration is a cosmic gumbo of many eras (specifically 90s, 00s, with a bit of 50s) rather than particular artists. I am a big fan of Andrew Bird, Radiohead, System of a Down, and augmented chord-driven oldies

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: Well I'm a web developer, so my typical clients hire me to write code and help with server, website, and data related tasks. In regards to music, I currently have no clients besides myself. My ideal client would be a musician or group of musicians who think my songwriting is as catchy and interesting as I think it is haha
