Hi there! I’m Gabriel Martínez, coming to you from 'llama-land'! After working with multiple local artists, I’ve set myself a new challenge: selling my original songs on SoundBetter. I’m excited to collaborate with talented creatives as a songwriter.
As an independent artist, I’ve reached over 800 monthly listeners within the first three months on Spotify, successfully building a loyal audience in the early stages of my career.
My debut single, 'Mi Negrita,' was selected for the 46th volume of Ditto Discovered, highlighting my dedication to my craft.
I take my time with every song to ensure each client is satisfied. I’m versatile and can adapt my style to fit the client’s vision for the song.
I work in Ableton Live and provide high-quality demos of songs.
I typically deliver projects within 7 business days, but I’m open to arranging a rushed delivery if needed.

Interview with Gabriel Martinez
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm really proud of the independent project I’m currently managing under the name 'Gabriel Martínez.' It’s been a fulfilling experience to pursue my own path.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm currently writing songs for my personal indie project. It’s been an important shift in my career, digging into the music business and putting myself out there.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Mechi Pieretti: a hard worker, responsible, and very talented in singing and songwriting.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. I really enjoy listening to music that has been processed in both ways.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To be 100% ethical and do my best to meet your expectations.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The element of surprise: every song I write is different from the last.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can I be trusted professionally? I’d say they can listen to the demo song I’ve uploaded and see for themselves. I am only seeking to develop my career by doing what I do best.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That inspiration often strikes at random moments. Sometimes, it’s just about sitting down and trusting the process.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Are they willing to form a strong alliance? Are they ready to trust the process?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Never give up on your dream. Success is the everyday development of your project. Success is not about popularity or monetary goals; it's about putting in the work every day to become our best selves.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, audio interface, microphone, guitar and cellphone.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been a songwriter since I was 17 years old. What started as a hobby soon turned into my career. At first, doubtful about the viability of a career in music, I decided to chase my dream. Recently, I've been working as a singer-songwriter and as a featured writer on multiple projects.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Intimate, honest, and fun.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with Camilo. I believe our perspectives on life and music are similar, which would result in great creativity and workflow.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Follow your gut!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Latin-pop. Really fun to write.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Lyrics. I'm highly capable of portraying the desired intention for a song.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Unique hooks, Latin-based rhythms, versatility, and brutal honesty in my lyrics, whether it's an upbeat or a heartbreak song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I pick an idea or concept, and then I start building musical layers based on beats or chords that reflect the feeling I intend to portray.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
