Toby Marriott Music on SoundBetter

Songwriter, topliner and producer helping artists turn ideas into real, emotional songs. From rough ideas to finished tracks, I help shape songs around emotion and storytelling. I mainly work in the alternative pop/ indie / alt-R&B space.

Whether you’ve got a rough voice note, a few chords, lyrics, or nothing at all, I can help you shape it into a finished track, including songwriting, toplining, and full production.

My process is collaborative and flexible. Some people come in with a clear direction, others just bring a feeling or an idea. Both work fine. I’ll help develop everything from the core song idea through to arrangement and final production.

You’ll receive a fully produced, release-ready track, plus any stems or session files if needed.

If you’re trying to turn something real into a finished song, I’d love to help bring it to life.

Great experience working with Toby. He understood the vision for the track and delivered everything quickly and as requested. Very professional producer, I recommend his work.

Toby was incredibly easy to work with! very patient, talented, and professional. He understood exactly what I was trying to communicate and always knew how to translate my ideas into the music. I really enjoyed the whole process and definitely see myself working with him again in the future. This won't be the last time we work together! :)

Interview with Toby Marriott Music

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Never lose sight of what made you excited by the idea in the first place. That feeling. When working with me, your job is to convey the feeling when the idea was born; my job is to help it fledge into a full grown song.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: People like Labrinth and Tobias Jesso JR inspire me a lot at the moment. They own a beautiful blend of creating awesome pop tracks alongside some really moving work, all while firmly carving their own identity in what they touch!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly run sessions from my studio at home! It is usually a 50/50 split of artists bringing a half-written song or idea that we workshop, or occasionally we start something from scratch together. I build the tracks on Logic Pro or Ableton, utilising my keyboard (MIDI) skills, sampling and sound design to craft a production around the song.
