Interview with Lovensky
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently working a country album. I am still in production mode but I am to mix and master it as well.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with For King & Country. I like how unconventional they are.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: At the end of the day, you have to go with your ears. If it sounds good, then it's good.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Generally pop, rap, R&B. Although I am currently working on a country album.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Because I play multiple instruments, I'm able to understand what a song needs and how to make the production translate to a wide range of people. I also try not to limit myself to one type of genre. So I am constantly learning from all kinds of music.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I seek to understand what each client is longing for because at the end of the day, it's their name on the record.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I prefer to produce, mix, and master projects but I tend to mix records more than anything.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup consist of working strictly in the box. I use Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, and Luna as my preferred DAWs. I use an Apollo Twin X because I love the Universal Audio plugins. I also have the SSL controllers and current use their plugins as well. Lastly, I have a few analog hardware instrumentals (Juno X, Behringer Poly D, Hammond M3).
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Right now I've been really inspired by Greg Wells. I just finished a series on record that he produced and mixed on Puremix. He's a genius!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I generally work on pop, rap, and R&B projects.
