Multi genre, classically trained vocalist who's written and recorded Hip Hop, R&B, and more.
As a long-time singer-songwriter and recording artist, I've gotten quite a bit under my belt. When it comes to writing and recording, not only have I released my own original music, but I've delivered over 50 songs for SongFinch, recorded features for other artists (indie and legendary), and co-written songs. I've also performed at the iconic House of Blues, for the Houston Dynamo, for SoFar Sounds, had a residency where I performed 3-hr sets, and much more. All that to say, I'm well-versed in writing, lead vocals, harmonizing, backing vocals, you name it. I'd love to help you create!

Interview with Mallory
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Shhhhh, it's a secret.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Trevis T - https://soundbetter.com/profiles/374175-trevis-t
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. It's just easier and more crisp.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: You're going to get quality lyrics and sound.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I know my gift. The challenge or the "work" will never be the singing part. When I open my mouth and push that sound out I feel okay.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's just a hobby. This shit is HARD!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: The possibilities are endless. Questions depend on what you want.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Communicate everything you possibly can about your project upfront so we can make sure we understand, can execute, or let you know if we can't.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My phone, a speaker, a charger for both, an oversized floppy hat, and the biggest container of water i could manage.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been working on my music for 5 years now, but I've been singing for over 25 years and have been recording features for about 12.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Versatile
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Chris Brown. Every verse or chorus he touches is gold. I'm trying to get some of that.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: R&B (usually with a fusion)
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: vocals
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Crisp vocals, angelic harmonies, and a little soul.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: This varies. If I have a beat, honestly, I listen and allow the melody and lyrics to pour out based on what the beat is telling me. If I don't have a beat, or a topic's provided, lyrics and a melody tend to pour out on their own and I have to run and record them (at least on my phone) so I don't forget them.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Creativity and vocals - Chris Brown Work ethic - Beyoncé Ability to pivot - Usher and Tank
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: So far, I've written and recorded 50+ custom songs as a SongFinch artist. Here, my goal is to broaden my project horizon.
