Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: It's important to have good hardware (speakers, headphones, keyboards, and real instruments) but plug-ins can bring far more control for reverb and EQ for example than analog ever could. It's great to be able to pick and choose from both.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Helping artists to realise their sound and potential -- the tech side can hold people back, so having a good mix engineer on board can help to level the playing field.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more: if there's a problem in a mix, it's often because there's too much going on, and adding more won't help. Likewise, your sliders should be floating around the halfway mark before mastering.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It's all about getting the client's ideal sound understood from the start, so a few reference tracks help get things started before the mix/master process.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I've got all of the high-quality instruments a composer should have in the modern age. That includes the most advanced EQ and vocal production softwares.
