Lead, rhythm, and slide acoustic and electric guitar parts for Americana music.
I can play rhythm and/or lead parts for existing tracks, or I can start with you from scratch to create a song. Since I’m also a songwriter, I can work with as little as lyrics. Whatever stage of completion your song is in: from just a couple verses on a napkin to a fully orchestrated track just in need of some tasteful flare, I can help provide what it needs guitar-wise. For songwriters or new song ideas, I can also lay down basic bass tracks and am proficient at programming drums for demo tracks.
I play primarily Americana and it’s adjacent genres: blues, bluegrass, country/western, soft rock, folk, and singer/songwriter. I can play more traditional/classic rock and roll as well, but if you’re heading in the direction of metal you’ll probably want to look elsewhere.

Interview with Sam Robertson
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog because I'm handy with a soldering iron.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Know what you want in advance. If your goals are ambiguous, it will be difficult to fulfill them.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I do music part time with a full time non-musical day job, but I've been playing music for over 20 years, and writing and recording songs for close to half of that.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: The Tedeschi Trucks Band. Everything about their philosophy of music production is, in my opinion, the right way to do things.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't overwork things; know when it's "finished enough", because you'll drive yourself crazy trying to make everything perfect.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Americana, Country/Western, and Rock (Classic or Soft)
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Mark Knopfler and Bob Dylan from a songwriting perspective. Clapton and Allman from a guitar playing perspective.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Electric guitar rhythm, filler, and lead tracks.
