As a musician, I know how annoying it can be to find a good engineer. That's why I guarantee your satisfaction or your money back. I've been working as a recording engineer full-time for nearly a decade in many top LA studios, as well as in my own private mix room pictured above. I specialize in pop and indie, but have a passion for nearly all music.
Shoot me a message if you have any specific questions!

Endorse Cooper LeithCooper is one of the best in the business. His mixes sound incredible and he’s one of the easiest people to work with in this god forsaken city!
I've worked with Cooper since the beginning of my music career (2018) and he is an absolutely fantastic audio & mix engineer. He has a refined ear and brings creative ideas and insights to the process. He also ensures we achieve the absolute best quality takes and doesn't settle for less. The mix quality is impeccable and I always receive compliments with the final product. Could not recommend Cooper enough!
Been working with Cooper for years, and he’s really become my most trusted collaborator. His precision when it comes to engineering and mixing is unmatched. His efficiency in production/vocal production make projects come together smoothly, and he’s always updating his gear collection with the latest and greatest. Would confidently recommend!
Incredible mixer and engineer. Goes above and beyond his role to accommodate clients and has a quick turnaround. Definitely going to be my go to engineer moving forward and I recommend him to all my colleagues as an industry professional! You won't be disappointed.
Interview with Cooper Leith
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. Ear before gear. If you can't make a great mix ITB, it's not the gear.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: 100% satisfaction or your money back.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Mixing songs for artists I am fans of.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How to deliver mix files. I say completely wet, I should be listening to your rough mix when I start. I'm here to improve where you stopped, not start from scratch. There are so many creative decisions made in the production phase that should be kept when the mixing gets files, I need to hear your intent. I request a dry lead vocal as well just in case though, very rarely anything else is needed.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That gear matters.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Paying bottom of the barrel for a mix doesn't mean you are saving money. Invest in your product or you will have to pay for the remix.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: ATC's, HD650's, Soyuz 017 Tube, Apollo Twin and OP1F.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Over a decade, I moved to Los Angeles 6 years ago though and got my industry start at the infamous Record Plant.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Meticulous.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Lorde circa Pure Heroine. That minimal production style of Joel Little's is timeless.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: A truly phenomenal mix starts in the production/arranging phase. Make sure layers have space to breathe and don't walk over each other.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop and pop-adjacent material.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Mixing.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Passion, enthusiasm, expertise and speed.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Starting early in the morning, taking lots of ear breaks to reset my focus, listening to references for vibe and monitoring quietly.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use an Attack Wall with ATC SCM25a's + Subwoofer. Room correction software through Dirac Live.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Max Martin, Joel Little and Pharrell.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing and mastering! In addition, I do a lot of production, co-writing and vocal engineering work.
