Interview with Alonso Zarate
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Whatever works!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Know the artist first.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, metal, pop and orchestral.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I'm very creative proposing new ideas and make arrangements almost on the fly.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Order and structure. My clients can be completely sure that we are not going to make a "riff-salad". Plus! I have a very good ear-memory, so your song won't sound as another song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to know my clients first in order to have an understanding of who they are and what are they looking for sonicaly. Then, we can talk about the pre-production, demos, etc.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I normally help to organize and develop the ideas they have, suggesting and justifiying some changes (if it's the case), then record and mix according the sound we want.
