  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That's is easy money and not a lot of work. But we have to study a lot and be creative at the same time, is a fine line between being logic and creative.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What kind of music do you like? What's the references for your music? What you want to achieve with it? What's the main goal? What's the deadline?

  24. A: I've been working with music since I was 7 years old. I started playing drums and learned other instruments along the way. With 18 years old I decided to leave my home country, Brazil, and go to Portugal in order to fulfill my dreams of a bachelor in music. Currently I live in Lisbon and just finished my Ba Horns with First Class Honours. With composition and arrangement I've been working for 16 years already and with audio engineering I've been working for 5 years.

  26. A: Clean and effective.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: The artist that I most wanted to work currently is Joe Hisaishi, the composer for many Studio Ghibli movies. Since my thesis was analysing his music along 40 years of work, my mind if thinking classical and orchestral for the moment, but I would love to mix and master a composition of his.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Exploring different melodies and harmonies it's a great idea to discover new paths but sometimes the simple is the most effective. You can have a great harmony and a simple melody that is catchy and good enough that you don't need to add a lot more. With a lof of options that we have nowadays, with information and etc, sometimes simple is the most effective.

  32. A: Lo-Fi, Hip Hop, Jazz, R&B, Soul, Funk and Folk.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  38. A: Normally we start by discussing what's the main goal of the client, giving references, getting to know each other better and understanding what's the best course of action for the product that he wants. Changes are made along the way of course and we can only continue as long the client is satisfied with the steps.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I usually mix and master inside the box with headphones for better quality, I have mutiple headphones but my favorite ones are the beyerdynamic DT-770, due to the clear frequencies and panning. I work with Pro Tools and Ableton as well with plug ins like FabFilter, Ozone and others. When it comes to producing I have a partnership with a studio with mutiple microphones like the NTA, SM57, NT5, along with amps, drum set, guitars, basses, keys and other instruments.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Musically, artists like Jacob Collier, Polyphia, Masayoshi Takanaka.
