Interview with Allexno
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is to always deliver a High-Quality product to them
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: - Do you have experience with (insert music genre)?
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Fortunately, I'm mostly surrounded by people who also make music like me, so there are no misconceptions about what I do at all, however, my grandma thinks I need the top gear and a whole studio setup to make what I do although she doesn't even make any music, neither know how to.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: - What did you find attractive about my offers and profile? - Do you like what I do and how I do things? - Would you mind hiring me for future jobs?
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: A project I'm proud about working on would be my latest release called "Part Of Me". a Deep House song I pretty much enjoyed making since at the time it was something so different from my usual old Deep House style which I had to develop more. My role was pretty much everything, I was the Producer, Mixing, and Mastering Engineer except for vocals, those are from Splice.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I have been working on new ideas to release on my own on various labels, get support, and pretty much experiment with new sounds. I hope to get new releases in 2024.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: JadenGarcia is a Friend of mine and a great Music Producer too, check him out!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The fact that I'm making music and the fact that I can live from what I love to do!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Depending on the genre. If I'm making House genres, I bring Drums like Kicks, Claps, Hi-Hats, and Cymbals, after that I start adding synths like basses, plucks, etc, whatever I feel the track requires. While making Future Bass, I arrange with Chord progressions, Synths, Saws and Guitar Loops, I start with the drums after that, and start to add the sidechain.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: It depends on the use you will give it for, Digital if you want EDM and electronic stuff, Analog if you want more organic and human results with genres such as Jazz, Swing, Rock, and even Synthwave if we count instruments as analog gear, however, if by analog you mean mixing gear such as SSL Compressors, Graphic EQs, etc, i don't think they are really necessary at all. But as I always say it's not the Gear, It's not the DAW, It's the Producer. You might have a Workflow, another Producer might have a different Workflow too, so it's all about your Skill.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Check the quality of my product and check how affordable I am because i want to offer a great service since the customers are the most important things, I can also be a good communicator sometimes
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Besides my PC, I would take my Audio Interface, Microphone, Headphones, Electronic Piano which I can use as a MIDI controller and an Acoustic Guitar. Assuming that somehow I will have electricity in a desert island.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: for 4 years and a half, my career path has been all about growing my numbers on the platforms, I need as much influence as possible so I can achieve my goal of making a living out of something I love to do, and it's the music
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Emotional, Vibey, Danceable, Club, Uplifting
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Most of them are close friends of mine but I admire them because of how skilled they are and of course, they are good people, they are: Ben Leuman, RDJMB, JadenGarcia, Gavss and Hybrid Noise
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If you want to make a certain style or genre, use references, and analyze every detail of those references you chose so you can develop further a Sound Selection skill, basically use the tools and samples at your disposal to make the genre of your preference as accurate as possible.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Deep House mostly, but I'm open to anything new. So my current genre expertise is based on: Deep House, Slap House, Tech House, Future Bass, Drum & Bass, Trap, Lo-Fi Hip-Hop, and Melodic Dubstep.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Mixing & Mastering MIDI writing
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I normally arrange with Chord progressions and the elements I want to spotlight, I send it to a mixer track to process it, same with any other element like Pianos, Synths, and Drums. Once I have a part of an arrangement I start mixing so I get a balance of the elements, right after that I work on the other half of the track to make a final arrangement in terms of production and keep mixing until it sounds perfect.
