Interview with Alejandro Llach
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: It depends on the use you will give it for, Digital if you want EDM and electronic stuff, Analog if you want more organic and human results with genres such as Jazz, Swing, Rock, and even Synthwave if we count instruments as analog gear, however, if by analog you mean mixing gear such as SSL Compressors, Graphic EQs, etc, i don't think they are really necessary at all. But as I always say it's not the Gear, It's not the DAW, It's the Producer. You might have a Workflow, another Producer might have a different Workflow too, so it's all about your skills, vision and focus.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup: - Behringer U-PHORIA UMC202HD Audio Interface - Takstar SM8B Microphone - AKG K240 Studio Headphones
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is to always deliver a Great-Quality product to clients!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: - What did you find attractive about my offers and profile? - Do you like what I do and how I do things? - Would you mind hiring me for future jobs?
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: A project I'm proud about working on would be my latest release called "Part Of Me". a Deep House song I pretty much enjoyed working on since it was at the time something so different from my usual old Deep House style which I developed further. My role in the song involved everything related to the production, song arrangement, composition, mixing & mastering.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The fact that I'm making music and the fact that I can earn from what I do!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Depending on the genre, but I want to bring as much life and passion and pretty much everything that's as "musically right" as possible.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I offer a great quality for a good price range, if you pick me for a job I assure you won't regret it!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My PC, my headphones, my audio interface, my microphone and a MIDI
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: for almost seven years, my career path has been developing around growing numbers on the platforms, I need as much influence as possible so I can achieve my goal of making a living out of something I love to do, which is music
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Emotional, Vibey, Danceable, Club, Uplifting
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If you want to make a certain style or genre, use references, and analyze every detail of those references you chose so you can develop further a Sound Selection skill, basically use the tools and samples at your disposal to make the genre of your preference as accurate as possible.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Depends on what the client requests and needs, I'm up to anything especially within EDM genres at all times!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Song arrangement & composition, Production, Ghost Production, Sound Design, Mixing & Mastering. I have a balanced skill level among them all.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I normally arrange with Chord progressions and the elements I want to spotlight, I put it to a mixer track to process it, same with any other element like Pianos, Synths, and Drums. Once I have a part of an arrangement I start mixing so I get a balance of the elements, right after that I work on the other half of the track to make a final arrangement in terms of production and keep mixing until it sounds perfect.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Avicii, Oliver Heldens, and Martin Garrix are the ones who inspired me the most!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Song arrangement & composition, Production, Ghost Production, Sound Design, Mixing & Mastering, Remixing.
