Let’s make some magic! With 12+ years as an artist and creator, I know how to craft songs that resonate. I specialize in powerful lyrics, dynamic sound design, and memorable melodies that connect. Whether you need a fresh take on a track, polished lyrics, or custom soundscapes, I’m here to bring your vision to life.
Hi there, I’m Phil!
I’ve been immersed in the music industry for over 12 years, growing as a singer, songwriter, and collaborator across many genres. While Peter Gabriel was a huge influence early on, my teenage years were dominated by rock music, which later evolved into a deep appreciation for electronic sounds. You’re always shaped by your influences, right? :)
As one-half of FLOYA, I’ve had the privilege of touring Europe, the UK, and Japan, gaining valuable experience in live performance and collaboration. I’ve also worked on a couple of tracks with Tom Byrne on his projects Valiant Hearts and Galleons.
Creating music is an intimate process for me—it’s not just about delivering a service, but connecting deeply with the sound. My expertise includes toplining, sound design (synths, foleys, textures, percussion), and bringing the creative energy I’ve honed in FLOYA to every project.
Let’s create something memorable together!

Interview with Phil Bayer
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: FLOYA album #2
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both :D
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will always try my best to meet our expectations!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Connecting with like minded people and extending a hand to the community!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is/are the emotion(s) you want to convey in your song?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I'd take my Juno X, my MacBook Pro, my microphone and that would still be enough even in my home!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: It's always been this career path and it'll probably never change haha. This is what I do best. :)
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Powerful, emotional & playful. Sometimes we artists take ourselves so seriously, that we almost forget to entertain.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd very much like to pick Tennyson's brain. He seems to think so differently about music than I do haha, at least that's what it feels like, he always inspires me.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: For the longest time I had an insanely perfectionist mindset when it comes to creating/producing, but it's a highly emotional thing that's also very subjective, so I've learned to trust my first impression/reaction, as that is usually the most genuine one. Trust your instincts, don't overthink it!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock and electronic music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Finding/Writing the drama notes in songs I guess :)
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A professional outside perspective, playful sound design and I'll always bury a half tone step somewhere for additional drama haha
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: At first I'm trying to immerse myself in the track and try not to be too analytical at first, as I am trying to find out what it does to me emotionally, you know? Trying to find out what parts speak to me in what way and why. Then I let my intuition take the wheel, it's always different!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work from a humble home studio with some really cool gear that I've acquired over the years. It's not much yet more than I'd probably ever need! (Check Gear list)
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I really like Porter Robinson, Roy Blair and Tennyson! Those are probably my favourites right now, but it's always changing.
