Elia on SoundBetter

Music composer, based in Buenos Aires, connected with different studios, schools and laboratories. Academic and traditional attitude but focused on new tendencies and irregular form and structures.

Hi,

I studied jazz/pop composition and I worked in a studio focused on EDM. My work starts with a simple percussion or body percussion, voice, keyboard, humble instruments and scores. Then I add guitars, synths, VST and vocals, mix and mastering and if you want something simple, this is it!

But if you wanna go deeper.. I'm connected with a huge range of artists and musicians from all around the world, professionals from various sectors and genres.

  19. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  20. A: Doing a lot of eartraining

  21. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  22. A: Pop, rock, EDM

  23. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  24. A: analysis of the song and his parts, melodic and rhythmic techniques, irregular structures, polyrhythm. I'm a forge of art open 24 hours a day.

  25. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  26. A: culture, control, passion.

  27. Q: What's your typical work process?

  28. A: I spend a few hours dividing the piece into parts, making sure that rhythm, melody and harmony are clear (even when outside the box). I experiment with various techniques, from chord substitutions to the serial method, I improvise a lot and I write the score. The next step is to go to the studio and coordinate the timbre, mixing and mastering part with the best professionals and friends in Buenos Aires.

  29. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  30. A: When I lived in Italy I had an enviable studio but now that I'm travelling, I prefer to travel with theory books, blank sheets of paper, two wooden sticks, a keyboard, a guitar and a computer. Almost every day, however, I find myself in a studio with compressors of all types, many racks and endless synthesizers. Contact me and I will send you photos and names of the studios so you can confirm what I'm saying and talk to the owner if you don't trust me! :)

  31. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  32. A: What inspires me is the exaltation of their strengths and the recognition that everyone has their own specialization and it is impossible and arrogant to think you can achieve everything. Synchrony and collaboration between the various professionals and their experiences is everything.

  33. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  34. A: The most common jobs concern the conclusion of suspended projects. Often an artist comes to me with a few ideas and my job is to add what's missing to complete an album or song. There is no shortage of work for film or other projects.
